Wonder what kind of NIL does Colorado have to work with? The transfer thing is working ok for Lane but I’ve heard it can be more expensive. It’s hard to really make a judgement about last year. TCU and Nebraska were nice wins early but ultimately not great teams. They lost pretty soundly to the good teams and played some other teams closer than they probably should. Can’t say much about the Stanford game after the way Auburn played NMSU. If he can get them bowl eligible next season that will be a win.

Florida baffles me. They’ve been on a 3 year rotation since Urban. I gotta believe this is making it hard to maintain a quality roster. The transfer portal does make it easier to rebuild but you still need a steady flow of high ranking recruits who stay to build quality depth. Auburn bball for example had their best team with a bunch of guys that played together for 2-3 years. If Florida fires Napier they will be resetting for another 3 years. I would be shocked if Harsin ever gets a sniff outside of a low end Mountain West, AAC, CUSA kinda team. ADs know what really happened and it wasn’t the big bad Auburn boogie man that ran him out of town.

Maybe it was the level of competition, Maybe it was Hugh taking over the offense, but Payton looked more than adequate from Miss State on. The Iron Bowl was his worst game in that stretch and even that game he acted as a good game manager and made plays with his feet. There is a whole other portal window that opens after spring practice. Maybe if there’s an opportunity there you’ll see Auburn grab a Qb. It would probably be someone to push Payton and more than likely vie for a backup role.
