True, match ups definitely matter just as much as seedings. However, I still highly disagree with your original comment stating Winning the SEC championship is a better evaluation of the team’s quality than winning the NCAA tourney. To me if you are the national champion, you have faced advantages and disadvantages to be the final victor.

That’s fine but there is no logical way to explain the idea that a conference championship > national championship. Hypothetically, If Bama wins it all, nobody is going to care about Auburn winning the conference tourney .

I have not be afraid to say that Throne scares me next year. I do think we need to see promise in our offense next year because we could easily lose the talented receivers we gain in one off season.

The only problem with saying record wise doesn’t matter is the fact that teams can look completely different from year to year with the transfer portal. I do agree it does matter what we look like, particularly on the offensive end.

Yep and other SEC Fanbases as well. What Saban did was unprecedented . I thought this was a homerun hire on paper. I think what people have to realize is he did more with less. Despite this being the SEC, Bama still has elite talent compared to their contemporaries.

PAC 12 had some quality teams and serious QB play. What Deboer did at Washington was amazing. Always been a fan of his. Not sure he will win as much as Saban (that may not happen for a long time), but he will certainly be successful at Bama. The SEC was not as elite as most years last year IMO.
