  1. I just don't see anyone beating them. A 30-0 run?
  2. But we won the Sec tournament. It just means more [yellow font]. I can’t help but feel how excited I would be for Auburn to be in the final four tonight.
  3. The problem is Auburn fans want the hold their head high for winning the SEC Tourney. Cool, put up the banner but the point of winning the conference tourney is to give you an advantage based on seeding, which obviously didn’t make a difference. Of course, We were so worried about (maybe the players too) about our seed in our bracket that are opponent who was significantly less athletic than us ended up beating us. Quite frankly I think that is a problem, not only with fans, but the people who run Auburn. Like the fans, they stay in the present instead of thinking long term. I will give Hugh Freeze props in this manner, he does seem to consider the longevity of the matter based on how he builds programs.
  4. When has that ever been a qualifier for who is a better coach. That is silly. So Kirby smart is not a better coach than Gus Malzahn?
  5. UConn really just seems unbeatable…
  6. This ejection debate is just a red herring.
  7. That was a fun game to watch. Clemson is pretty athletic but I think Bama can get them.
  8. Yes because he had to go to the portal therefore he put most of his effort in doing so.. He seems to struggle in balancing between the two once the obvious was gone. In a perfect world, we would be able to get our needs met utilizing both. Also, the quality of players matter as well. The first portal guys , particularly at the skill position , turned out to be not so great. The good thing is he recognized this and bought in guys to help address it.
  9. If he commits you have to be sure to understand it’s like a blank check. This is the face of your team. You can’t get a commit like this then later on hear “well we weren’t going to over spend.” There are only maybe a handful of guys who are program changers. I believe we got ourselves one in Cam Coleman.
  10. I have a sneaky feeling we would not have a backup plan if we took his commitment and lost him in the eleventh hour because we are not "willing to overspend," and all the other QBs already have a solidified relationship. Again, this is only solely speaking for those players who are top tiers of the top tier players & still taking visits. I would rather have him commit somewhere else early, see what the floor is for his commitment price, and if it is even worth it for our money guys, but that is just my opinion.
  11. Honestly , it would probably would not benefit us for someone as good as that five star QB to commit to us right now or even soon (unless He is going to pull a Walker White and closes his recruitment). All that is going to do is expose our hand and get us in a bidding war very early.
  12. I am willing to bet if things look shaky A-Day, the money will randomly be available . I see we have short memories from our bowl game when 90% of the board and even the coach had questions about QB play in a flip.
  13. I just think it is obvious ignorance for some. But what do I know ? Not much.
  14. Highschool vs NIL/Transfer. It all goes together. I don’t think anyone here has denied he does an outstanding job at the highschool level. Remains to be seen if he can be efficient in terms of transfer portal, keeping his recruits , bringing in effective transfers (effective is key).
  15. Freeze is a boss in terms of making relationship and bringing guys along. He has already stated that the NIL/transfer portal is a situation that he is not completely comfortable with hence why he hired a couple of guys to come in as support. So no, I would not say he is better suited for this current climate of football as he has not yet proven as such.
  16. You will but you shouldn’t. There are several instances of coaches getting programs out of the dark but the next guy getting them over the hump. Of course, the opposite can happen just as well.
  17. A lot of that has to do with the hiring process and some good ole boy system politics. For all the analytics we seem to utilize, it hasn’t helped.
  18. I think, at the very least in college basketball, another thing that is getting exposed his coaches who are major recruiters (who use to get away with players just being better with athletes) getting exposed. Now with the NIL, talent can go across the board, but one obvious I am seeing is the mid majors and the non blue bloods stocking up on older mature guys as well. You are seeing teams go deeper who have those guys, with the additional benefit of playing longer together and it really shows on the floor. I hate to say it, but it was more than just shooting that got Yale by us. Take that as you want.
