  1. This team has SO many players that are fun to watch and easy to pull for. Tre at the end of last year and most of this year looks like a legit all conference point. Dylan = Auburn spirit and heart. Johni -even when he doesn't shoot it well he is defending like crazy. Jaylin = at times smoother than silk and lord he can guard. Aden at the end of both of our last halves = assassin. CMO - doesn't do much offensively but good gracious he battles on D. KD- crazy wild but he is our crazy wild. Denver -- huge 3 today when USC was trying to get back in it and he plays tough, tough D. But y'all my fast becoming fav is CBM. BP mentioned it in post game -- he got 3 shots today but good gracious he played lime crazy. He doesn't complain "I only got 3 shots" no sir he celebrates like a mad man when Dylan throws one down. CBM is so long. It looks like he can D up anybody out there. He had several very nice offensive rebounds it seems. Anywho shout out to a team player like CBM. I'm glad he is a Tiger!!!
  2. Before this weekend, we felt good. FSU moved the needle this weekend. It would have been great to have him at the basketball game today. @bigbird has a better feel for our backend (pun intended) but we are going to be better than okay there IMO. Improving up front makes them better also.
  3. It was better than a dub Mav, it was an inverted photo of a Russian Mig pilot being shot the middle finger!!!
  4. No, you make stuff up i.e. you say half of the six "drops" were "elite" defensive plays which simply isn't true per the video and even when proven wrong you will not even give Thorne credit for throwing the ball where you, erroneously, say 3 of the 6 drops take an elite defensive play to make them incomplete. By definition if it was an elite defensive play, the throw had to be pretty good, right? Keep hating on Thorne...
  5. So where are the passes where the 3 DBs were ripping the ball out? The second one that you say wasn't a drop hits Fairweather in both hands before any contact... The bigger point is you crap on Thorne incessantly do you agree that all 6 of these balls were thrown where they could have been caught?
  6. Don't try to be cute. Go look at the plays and come here and say I stand on 3 of the drops were DBs ripping the ball out or come here and say "guys I exaggerated the facts and only 1 was a DB ripping the ball out."
  7. Look back at the plays. 1 was a punch out on Johnson -- a great DB play. Another Johnson dives for the ball and completely viffs. One is Hunter simply dropping the ball out in the flat with no one around him. One is Fairweather getting both hands on the ball after the DB pushed off and Fair not securing the catch. One is a slightly high throw to J.Fair over the middle that he alligator arms before anyone touches him. The other is a curl by Fairweather that hits both of his hands and falls to the ground before the defenders get there. Facts matter. Thorne simply can't throw it and catch it.
  8. This is false. You can't simply throw things out like that and expect people to take you seriously. How many wide open receivers did he miss in the UGA game vs 6 drops/elite defensive plays as you call them? Please -- less hyperbole and more facts.
  9. @W.E.D re your post that "only AU receivers have drops" did you see the article where an unbiased al.com reporter reported that Thorne had 9 incompletions in the UGA game and 6 of the 9 hit the receiver's hands? That was our biggest game of the year and receivers having their hands on 67% of incomplete passes -- does that EVER happen elsewhere? Sure, other teams have drops but you refuse to recognize that we were uniquely great at it all while simultaneously criticizing Thorne. It seems to be a blind spot.
  10. And, she had a huge smile on her face. I strongly suspect she had a great time (despite the score), and we treated her with lots of respect like she deserves.
  11. Were we previously 1-4 or 0-4 against USC?
  12. We may be the best team in the country in inbound D and O!
  13. Credit to FSU. They did a great job this weekend. Bringing in the grandparents = smart. We felt really good about him on Friday. I'm glad our staff isn't afraid of a good fight. Good luck young man if you ultimately do become a Nole.
  14. Well, we are certainly doing our best and putting our best foot forward. Do y'all remember the days when AU basketball was lawd awful and these types of visits did absolutely nothing for us? My how the times have changed. This basketball atmosphere is so freaking impressive.
  15. They've had great success with smaller guys, and Williams certainly fits that bill. He is either (1) still interested in us despite what he says in public (2) wants to see a great basketball game and hang out with friends he has met during recruiting or (3) both. To your earlier point, if I had to choose between a young man the size of Thompson and Coleman or Williams, I would choose the bigger body.
  16. He says he will be in Auburn today for the game but that he is locked in with Bama and will sign there on Feb 9. As long as he continues to visit, we've got a chance.
  17. RW had 2 TD catches today in the Mississippi Alabama All-Star game. Malcolm Simons had an 88 yard TD catch.
  18. MS had an 88 yard TD reception today in the Mississippi Alabama All-star game. That is 1 more TD than 6 receivers who were on our roster and played this year including transfers Shorter, Johnson and Kelley.
  19. Matt Cohen has an article up about JJ transferring. In it he says that Thorne had 9 incomplete passes against UGA and that in 6 of the 9 the ball hit the receivers hands. IIRC JJ had 2 drops in that game.
  20. G thanks so much for posting that!!! Even more reason to pull for this young man.
