  1. Don't try to be cute. Go look at the plays and come here and say I stand on 3 of the drops were DBs ripping the ball out or come here and say "guys I exaggerated the facts and only 1 was a DB ripping the ball out."
  2. Look back at the plays. 1 was a punch out on Johnson -- a great DB play. Another Johnson dives for the ball and completely viffs. One is Hunter simply dropping the ball out in the flat with no one around him. One is Fairweather getting both hands on the ball after the DB pushed off and Fair not securing the catch. One is a slightly high throw to J.Fair over the middle that he alligator arms before anyone touches him. The other is a curl by Fairweather that hits both of his hands and falls to the ground before the defenders get there. Facts matter. Thorne simply can't throw it and catch it.
  3. This is false. You can't simply throw things out like that and expect people to take you seriously. How many wide open receivers did he miss in the UGA game vs 6 drops/elite defensive plays as you call them? Please -- less hyperbole and more facts.
  4. @W.E.D re your post that "only AU receivers have drops" did you see the article where an unbiased al.com reporter reported that Thorne had 9 incompletions in the UGA game and 6 of the 9 hit the receiver's hands? That was our biggest game of the year and receivers having their hands on 67% of incomplete passes -- does that EVER happen elsewhere? Sure, other teams have drops but you refuse to recognize that we were uniquely great at it all while simultaneously criticizing Thorne. It seems to be a blind spot.
  5. And, she had a huge smile on her face. I strongly suspect she had a great time (despite the score), and we treated her with lots of respect like she deserves.
  6. Were we previously 1-4 or 0-4 against USC?
  7. We may be the best team in the country in inbound D and O!
  8. Credit to FSU. They did a great job this weekend. Bringing in the grandparents = smart. We felt really good about him on Friday. I'm glad our staff isn't afraid of a good fight. Good luck young man if you ultimately do become a Nole.
  9. Well, we are certainly doing our best and putting our best foot forward. Do y'all remember the days when AU basketball was lawd awful and these types of visits did absolutely nothing for us? My how the times have changed. This basketball atmosphere is so freaking impressive.
  10. They've had great success with smaller guys, and Williams certainly fits that bill. He is either (1) still interested in us despite what he says in public (2) wants to see a great basketball game and hang out with friends he has met during recruiting or (3) both. To your earlier point, if I had to choose between a young man the size of Thompson and Coleman or Williams, I would choose the bigger body.
  11. He says he will be in Auburn today for the game but that he is locked in with Bama and will sign there on Feb 9. As long as he continues to visit, we've got a chance.
  12. RW had 2 TD catches today in the Mississippi Alabama All-Star game. Malcolm Simons had an 88 yard TD catch.
  13. MS had an 88 yard TD reception today in the Mississippi Alabama All-star game. That is 1 more TD than 6 receivers who were on our roster and played this year including transfers Shorter, Johnson and Kelley.
  14. Matt Cohen has an article up about JJ transferring. In it he says that Thorne had 9 incomplete passes against UGA and that in 6 of the 9 the ball hit the receivers hands. IIRC JJ had 2 drops in that game.
  15. G thanks so much for posting that!!! Even more reason to pull for this young man.
  16. Cam Coleman posted on IG for AJ to "come home." Damari Alston posted a lock emoji. As E indicated above "Central" Phenix City is where AJ and CC played in High School (incidentally coached by Pat Nix). It is 40 minutes from campus. AJ was the #1 player in Alabama last year, #2 corner overall and a 5 star.
  17. Also the damage to infrastructure, government buildings, commercial buildings, residential buildings, individual homes.... Rebuilding is daunting...
  18. My belief is that the stats indicate this wasn't CHF's typical offense that we were running particularly when we were forcing the RA reps in games 1-7. We were far too run heavy and predictable, and CHF's offenses are typically far more balanced and dynamic. The offense will look vastly different next year.
  19. Here is my take: (1) reputational risk -- from an outsider's view, i.e. a potential new coach and his agent, Auburn has a quick trigger -- we fired Chizik after winning a NC, Gus after some success and Tater after 2 years. Having a quick trigger is not as bad as a look as long as you pay the buyout. If you get a reputation of quick trigger and no buyout, it is hard to attract future coaches. (2) Legal risk -- for cause provisions are usually written to very much favor the coach i.e. the conduct must be egregious -- not fan egregious but jury of your peers egregious. -- and would likely require AU to pay Tater's legal fees if he won. The fact we launched an investigation with outside counsel 9 months before he was term'd could give the appearance that we were looking for a reason and thus lacked clean hands 9 months later. (3) Dumbassery -- I don't know another way to put it but the outside counsel investigation becoming public, particularly the alleged affair parts, made us look like a bunch of dumbasses or worse an institution willing to stoop to whatever levels necessary to solve a problem. Public litigation over his contract dragging on for years risked more damage to our brand than simply paying him $15MM.
  20. I get nothing but facepalms from Ican't. When we are in agreement I know either (1) he is back on his medication or (2) someone has stolen his device.
  21. It has been feeling like that for several weeks now...
