  1. Did we offer that Hooks kid? From JSU? I believe we did.
  2. This could be one of the most important pieces of the class besides OL and QB
  3. Hell Yes! HCBHF putting in work. Now, Come on Mr. Nixon. Your buddy is here and waiting on you! Can you all imagine J. Shorter and Fairweather running seams with Var Johnson coming underneath!
  4. Man the air here in southern TN is filled with pollen and it is taking a toll on my eyes.....they are super watery.....What? Heck No!!! Im not crying! You are crying!
  5. Of course I never saw some of the greats as they were before my time, but to me this is not a difficult choice whatsoever. It's 2004 and it's not even close. Honestly, that team wasn't coached in a manner to really showcase what we truly had. We could have ran it up on just about everybody. One of the best defensive teams I have ever watched. The D was so good it made it seem like no one player was really all that good. Everybody was a huge contributor!. Offensively...J Campbell in 04 was unlike any QB experience I have seen. Literally everytime he dropped back and threw deep...I instantly would turn around and throw my hands up in the air because I knew it was going to be on the money and I knew that one of Ben, Devin, or Courtney was going to catch it. Never been able to do that again. Let's not even get into the best SEC backfield in history.
  6. I get what your saying and maybe I should have put minimum. I expect him to play a good bit. He played a lot as a Fresh at LSU and when he entered the portal a lot of there fans said they thought he would be a starter or at very least a big time contributor this season. That's all I have to go on
  7. Fun fact about Zeek/Zeke....when I read your fun fact about the history of your name...I was thinking to myself "What the hell is he even talking about and why is he telling me this" lol...then I realized I spelled it Zeke in my post to you haha. That was purely by mistake! Oh it's amazing already, but yes it will be remarkable if we finish with Nixon, Shorter, Ukwu and MLC. That would be a beast finish.
  8. Josh has actually been much less "Homerish" since he went national w 247 imo.
  9. I think they factor in a lot with the SA's Social Media Followers and factor that into their "Evaluations".
  10. Zeke that's a pretty good looking Lineup. If you get time I would be curious to see your full projected depth chart or 2 deep at least. I differ in opinion on a couple spots. The DL and LB I have Jones at DT and Woodyard and Keyes at LBs. I differ on the WR group. I would sub Camden Brown and Mardner out. I just aint impressed with Mardner and I think Cam Brown going to make some noise this fall. ( could be wishful thinking!!). Of course in a perfect world we have Shorter and either Coleman (unlikely IMO) or MLC.
  11. Exactly as I have it....even with the Nixon note. I could see a situation though at the LB spot where Woodyard starts at MLB and Riley at WLB and Keys places situational and rotates in at both spots....but that is all dependent upon how far Woodyard and Riley come this offseason. I like the idea of Jones and Rogers in at the same time. I do like Zeke's take with NMKite as the DT and I could see that as well. I don't remember being more torn on our front 7 in quite some time. After DB and Marlon left I expected us to suck and Wooden stepped up but we were undersized. This group...I could see us being really really good.... I could also see a scenaro where the starters are really good and the depth is so so. Z Walker is just unproven. He has shown glimpses but not enough production or reps to know what he brings. LAwrence johnson brings a good size body w experience but I don't see him much more than a rotation piece. I think Jones, Harris, and Rogers will all be solid along with Nassili Kite. HE has gotten some praise this spring. I just don't know how good we are behind them. I will add I feel like we finally have adequate size on our DL. We got some dudes! LB group is a huge question mark and it all hinges on (assuming we don't get any more from portal) the hope of massive development from Riley, Woodyard and Steiner even. We need 2 of those 3 to make big leaps. Riley looked promising last year. I think he will be solid. Woodyard has been praised all spring. I also expect Tolan to work his way into 10-15 snaps a game. I think his speed is something the rest of the group do not possess. He was expected to start for LSU this year according to most their fans and writers
  12. I wonder if he slides inside or how this shakes out between him, Wade and Britton.
  13. Nothing you are saying is disproving his point. It's anecdotal.
  14. Dag.....do you not know the unwritten rules of calling "shotgun"? You can't call shotgun for the next ride when we are still in the house!!!!!! GOH!!!! LOL. -----said by Tigerpro with unsubtle jealousy in tone of voice, and hints of rage!
  15. I kind of feel like these two things can both be true. Harsin completely failed his duties in recruiting at an insane level of failure. After the February debacle though, even if he flipped his strategy 180 and hit it hard the road was made much more difficult from that point on. When it was announce he was retained I felt he was dead man walking then. So I think there is truth in both that he was crippled by thart investigation and he was failing miserably anyway so it likely didnt matter. Just my opinion.
  16. Im going to be dead honest. I was fooled as well for the first year and half. I thought AU was good enough to sell itself regardless of coach. I thought the "hard nosed" coach was just what we needed. Looking back on it....I see I was just so burnt on Gus that I would have likely fallen for any coach we hired that was different than Gus. It was an easy realization once I opened my eyes....not only that I was blinded by my angst for Gus but also that Harson was in over his head. I keep going back to the day he was hired. We had heard all these different names and then here it came "Bryan Harsin expected to ink deal as AU's next HC". I felt no excitement. I felt no dread. I felt nothing at all because I had no clue who this guys was or where he came from. First thing I did was Google him. Upon reading of his coaching history...I still really just had a lackadaisical approach until I literally talked myself into supporting the man.
  17. GT still averages around 69% capacity as terrible as they have been. I would think the drop off in attendence when schools go from decent/good to average/bad is by large related to the sidewalk fans no longer going.
  18. I think if we are only looking for an AU comparison then JS is a decent comparison. I would almost say his play reminds me more of Sean White with a stronger arm. I'll tell you a player that came to mind as well that is not an AU player is former Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly.
  19. Here are my thoughts on skimming 2-3 of MSUs games tonight. This is my opinion of his play from my amateur, untrained eye! Good arm- Not a world beater arm but strong enough to make all the throws required. He has a good quick release. He can manipulate his throwing angle when needed as well. He is fairly mobile as well. He is not Nick Marshall or even Bo Nix in that regard, but he is quick and agile enough to extend plays and make the defense pay a couple times a game if they lose contain. Seems to go through progressions well. Also has a quick trigger when he identifies his man. He seems like a good leader and locker room guy from what I have read and seen. If I was going to knock him on what I have seen it would be 3 things. He can tend to float backwards and get a little happy feet in the pocket. (at least he doesn't bail left or right everytime and he also keeps his eyes downfield) Another thing is he needs to be more consistent with his touch on shorter routes. I.E Bubbles, shallow crossers, etc. Saw him bounce a few bullets off WRs pads....of course...I am of the belief that if it hits you in the hands or numbers you should catch it lol. Last he just needs to minimize some of his throws that are forced. In the Washington game, he had a few that he tried to force and it nearly, and sometimes did, cost them. They were down by 20+ so I get trying to make something happen, but got to be more careful. All in all, I think he just what we need right now. He fits a lot of what I believe HCBHF is looking for in a QB. I think with some good coaching from HF, PM and Co., he can be a dependable QB for us and an instant upgrade for us this year. I would say he intstantly adds 1.5 wins to our schedule compared to what we had this year. Now, the thing I really love is that if he stays for year 2 I think he can be coached into a very good QB. Sorry for the length guys and gals. Just wanted to share my thoughts. War Eagle!
  20. Who is to say it is limited to one? I kind of see both as that guy. The reason Thorne feels more like that piece to me is due to the fact of our struggles at the QB position for so long as well as our failure to bring in a quality guy. He will provide instant help where as WW is at least 1, likely 2-3 years down the road. Man...if Thorne stay both years....then that sets up perfect! Walker gets to learn under a veteran guy his Freshman year and then take over the following season!
