  1. Until I see Golf come in with his "decent pick up" this just isn't real!!!!
  2. Saw some good things today and saw some things not so good. The good: -Thorne. He played pretty well minus the pic. -Hunter, Finally hitting his stride. - Open WRs and QB throwing catchable balls to them. -No Robby! The bad: Open WRs and dropping catchable balls. Inconsistent on the OL Horrible blocking by Wrs and TEs at times. Stupid penalties. Here is my take on Arky. I think Thorne will stop looking over his shoulder now that he played the entire game and he knows he is the guy...even if he makes a STUPID mistake like a pick 6. This is going to give him more confidence next week I feel like. I think the offense will feel this all week in practice and will feed off it and come game time we will see what we all expected to see all season long and we will go in and take down the hogs in their house.....AU 45 ...Ark 27. Im putting my shades on.....gang gang War Damn Eagle.
  3. So I agree with Coach about the field position and not wanting to make a stupid mistake and risk the momentum of the game. I see people saying things like " HF took his foot off the gas knowing me should be trying to build an identity" and stuff like that....well....the current game is Priority 1. Get the win. Another thing, I haven't had a chance to rewatch the 2nd half yet and I had a house party going on during the live game so I honestly wasn't paying full attention to it then.....but I saw on TOS that one of the beat guys ( Pink...who is pretty dang good on X's and O's) did a play script analysis and he said that most of the game we ran RPO's. He even went on to say that only 4 of our rushes didn't have a Pass option attached. WTS, barring the idea that Thorne just misread a bunch of them, maybe it wasn't as big of a philosophical change from half to half as some are making it out to be in terms of playcalling. Either way....we got the dub. WDE!
  4. This is something that has driven me nuts for years and I have had some pretty heated debates with folks on the topic. I absolutely hate when anyone, especially players or reporters, refer to a coach or former coach as "insert first name". I was raised and taught that you address them as Coach. Whether it's simply "Coach" or " Coach Freeze" or "Coach Hugh" or "Head Coach Brother Hugh Freeze" and on and on and on.....Coach should be included. I learned this at a very early age from my Dad. Then my HS Football coach , Coach Louis Thompson, played for Coach Bear Bryant...and any time he ever told a story about playing you never heard him say "Bear" it was always "Coach Bryant". It's just respectful IMO. Unless the coach says "hey call me Hugh" then there should be a Coach included. PISSES ME OFF!!! Rant over.
  5. I can definitely agree with the "baby steps" MO , pun intended. I will tell you this....my child can do as he pleases when he is 18+ and out of my household. I will hope that my job of parenting will have prepared him well enough for this crazy as bizarro world we live in. I will leave it at that. Until then...he is and will be a male....period.
  6. I just wanted to share some good news......The wife is pregnant with our first child! Had Gender reveal Sunday and IT'S A BOY!!!!!!! He will be here toward the end of March if all goes according to plan! Sorry for the click bait, fam. Who knows though, he could end up being a future AU QB!!!!!!! WAR DAMN EAGLE!
  7. Ok so that's where we are off. So I took it a little more as an indictment against the players because you said "they are not developable". I took that differently than stating that the odds of developing said player are low. So ultimately we agree then because as I mentioned multiple times ITT that I don't expect that to happen either...I was just making that case that just because of his rating doesn't mean that he can't. My hope is that WW directly follows PT after the 24 season and then we have a nest of 4 and 5 star QBs moving fwd. War Damn, bud.
  8. No problems, bud. Simply was trying to have a conversation with a fellow fan to try and understand how you could feel that our entire QB Room is not "developable". That just came off as crazy take for me so . It's all good, though. Let's just agree to disagree. Maybe I took your original post (below) out of context.
  9. I simply looked at the NFL's current list of starting QBs and half were 3 star comps or lower. That alone bust your argument that Hank Brown is not capable of being developed because he is a 3 star recruit. Yes it's a large pool. Again, I am not betting on the kid to do anything...just pointing out a number of examples that counter the basis for your claim. No one is arguing that 3 stars are more likely to get drafted. Mac and Lamar were both composite 3 star recruits which is what I said. You seem to be more concerned with being sarcastic than actually having a legit conversation. Have a good evening, bud.
  10. Not the point I was making, but I will play along. Josh Allen Lamar Jackson Russell Wilson P Mahommes Jimmy G. Mac Jones Zac Wilson Kenny Pickett Ryan Tannehill Desmond Ridder Dak Prescott Jordan Love Kirk Cousins Daniel Jones (2 star) Brock Purdy Baker Mayfield Every name above was a 3 star composite or worse. Thats approximately 1/2 of the starting QBS in the NFL right now. Of course we want all blue chip recruits. Nobody ever said we didn't want 4 and 5 star QBs. That was not even the argument. The fact is though, There have been many 3 star QBS develpped into great College Qbs and NFL draft picks and our HC is one that has had success in doing so on more than one occasion . What about Holden? What's wrong with him that he can't be developed? Didn't HCBHF say he was the best pure passer on the team? Why do you feel he is not capable of being developed? I trust HCBHF when it comes to QBS.
  11. If only we had hired a coach that had proven success with developing a 3 star QB into a day 2 pick.
  12. How did you arrive at this conclusion? They are all "Developable" to an extent. I know...semantics...but I think determining where the "developable" Goal Post lay is important. Are we talking about being developed into an above average CFB QB....Top 5 SEC QB.... Day 1 draft pick.. a serviceable Game manager....a Gun Slinger.....Heisman Finalist...and on and on and on. What is the metric for which you deemed all 4 of our Scholarship QBs not "developable" and again what are you basing this on? I mean....we have only seen a very minuscule dose of HG.....virtually none of Hank Brown...so to say they are not "developable" just seems like a bit of a doltish take IMO. And maybe you were just joking and if so then by all means disregard this all. I just found it to be an odd conclusion.
  13. So the first one I remember at all is James Bostic, but it is very vague. I remember watching Bo with the Raiders and I knew he played at AU but was I was an 85 model. Bostic is the first I remember, and Stephen Davis is the one I remember being an actual avid fan and watching if that makes sense.
  14. I mean....did you really get in his head though? Did you really win? Or did he get in yours? Who went out actively seeking conflict with who here? I J S.... Stuff like this always cracks me up....and I mean no disrespect to you BTW....I am the world's worst about doing this exact same thing....but I have gained some self awareness over the years and it makes me laugh at all of us including me.
  15. Two things can be true here. Charlie came in from the rip and insulted Jake by mildly mocking his career which could contribute to why Jake started throwing jabs and personal attacks back. That's one thing. The other thing is....Jake was likely going to do the same thing regardless of what C5 said. I think they both had points. Jake's football knowledge is definitely a world and a half above C5's. I took the C5's point to be that it didn't much matter what we did or didn't do because we don't have the horses to stop the nation's best TE. Which is true to an extent. IT is also true that while we may not stop him, we might be able to limit him more with some of the things Jake said. All in all it was not fun to watch for me. I bet ZB regrets that lol,
  16. I have read every word.....Its every other post.....how could one not read it lol. I was just trying to say to u that if you are going to say let's be done....just say that....leave the jab out....it's all good, bro. War Damn!
  17. Man....u say let it go but throw a jab in with it.....and @Maverick.AU Just stop replying to him. Let's focus on the game.
  18. God I hope that turns the thought track of some of u ITT around lol. We are going to be ok guys. There will be a lot of head shaking early in the year with new staff, new players and new scheme. It's a bit of a trial by fire type of season especially early. Just hang in there guys and gals. WDE
  19. I honestly can't believe all the people clamoring for anyone to start over JH at this point. JH has been a great backup for 2 years behind tank and has earned it. Yes he needs to get back in a game groove but I think he started to as the game went on. Don't get me wrong, I love what DA brings to the table and I think he is every bit as talented as JH, and then Cobb is going to be a beast and have an amazing career, but at this point it's JH until he gives a reason to be replaced or one of the others leaves him behind. What a great problem to have though!
  20. I agree with everything u have said here....and btw...Great analysis on the play breakdown. Design and execution of that play were a chef's kiss. I just want to add to the above bolded part of your post here....that I also think we have a QB now who will not bail left or right when unwarranted as well. Bo never had a good OL, but even when given a pocket he was really bad about bailing out anyways. So nice to see a QB with the poise in the pocket and will to step up into the pocket and deliver a dime piece. Let PT's part not go unnoticed as well!!!! edit- Wow. So sorry. I have a terrible habit of when I see something in a post I want to comment on I stop right then and get to it as opposed to reading the last couple lines. I see you called that out the end. Great post!!!!!
  21. Just curious where this intel came from? I know Gus did a lot of Designed runs that were read presnap by Gus but to say every single one of them seems like a big stretch to me. Was this ever stated by players or coaches?
