Auburn vs miss state post game
tightendoverthemiddle replied to Maverick.AU's topic in AU Football Forum
So, Gus "restored" Auburns place in the SEC.. hmmm.. sadly comical was Gus's record on the road vs the rest of the SEC. So Gus supporters revising what all he did for Aubie. He won early with Chizik's recruits. He couldn't coach up what he recruited and now the leftovers remain. -

Auburn vs miss state post game

GusBus DROVE this program from an upper tier area (Both Divisions) to a middle/lower tier WEST Division Team. No one outside the State of Alabama cares about Auburn other than Alumni, Aubie Fans and Bama haters. So the reputation remains in anonymity. The Oline is Bad. The Dline is thin. Aubie LBs can't cover. DB's are thin, gassed and can't cover. Bo Nix has tremendous heart, but just not a 5 star talent as advertised. -
Things I Think I Saw....AU vs aTm......

Late post here.. been out of town. AGREED!! what I see and each back is different is that with TB there are times when he starts the hip/hop step at the LOS and tries to break wide, put the pursuit is already in position to make the play, instead of just hitting straight north/south for 7 to 8 yards. Instead ending up with 1/2 or maybe 3 yards. All 3 have had this tendency.. -
That was not a 17 Point Loss

Aubie (1st Season HC and OC) vs TAM (3rd Winningest Active HC (NC against.... hmmm)) and the Top DC in the Country in their 3rd season with more $$$ backing than anyone. If "I" wanted to see a Circle and Dive QB, Hell I would have left the Eagle fly everytime Aubie had the ball. This season was/is a long Pre-Season event. Have a winning record, make it to a Bowl game and then recruit your ass off like there is no tomorrow. Anything more would be gravy.. -
1. Any Player that goes down, and time is called for that injury, MUST sit out the remainder of the current drive AND the following drive, to make sure that the players health is checked out. 2nd incident, and they have to go into the locker room for 1 quarter.

Three 5th Year Senior Defensive Linemen left to my knowledge. Truesdell and Newkirk along with Bryant. For rotation purposes alone, this made a major difference for the front 7.

No Cares.. lets see.. try taking a job across country, with a program that is as schizoid as Auburn, with literally no remaining talent, cross state rival is the Death Star.. and every corn pone retread coach "knows" more than anyone else. Lets see .. who Beat Saban in his first season... Louisiana Monroe. Remember the Billboards. Note to Auburn Board and whoever else has a Pod Cast... GIVE THE MAN A CHANCE!!! GIVE HIM the 7 years ya gave a Gadget driven High School Sugar Huddle Genius!! -

Loved the matchup. Also playing in Happy Valley. Great Crowd, passion.. what College Football is all about. My Site name here says it all. Tightends are and have been for all Football eternity, the most underused position by 90% of the Programs out there. UGA example has two FREAK Tightends, One is injured. Find them, recruit them. Not a fan of 4 Wide sets. Bunch Sets, mix WRs and TEs in different spots.. get creative (Al Borges, Gulf Coast). When Aubie goes 4 wide, end pressure is too disrupting. Offesnses can do everything and then some from two TE sets. Again the TE postion does not always have to be a TE... Not sure why the "jump ball " passes, please more intermediate routes. So.. Now we know what we have. Lets correct the mistakes. There are 3 ex Head Coaches on this staff, they can get it done. I LOVED the FIGHT in the DOG. No Quit like in years recently past. Last... I think PENN STATE is in the spot that Coach Harsin is wanting to get to. James Franklin, with the addition of the new OC, has a Power Offense, with Great TEs and Sick WRs. Defense is solid through all 11 spots. That's where are headed!! WDE -
What's up with the turf on the field?

Mentioned this to my son. Looks like fungus or mole crickets.. either way will probably have to be dug up and replaced. -
From everything that I saw, Team preparation, execution, this was the best that i have seen from an Auburn Team in years. I know.. it was Akron. but there was no denying the business approach that this group had.
