  1. Sometimes kids have to grow, mature and develop within a system. I'm afraid this unrestricted transfer portal coupled with ungodly NIL money will make the notion of patience to stick with a team and soak up coaching & develop a thing of the past.
  2. Agreed. Lord knows we heard enough this year about a Bama player (Sears) who could've easily been in O&B had our coaches just offered him. I don't want to hear the lamenting and whining IF Holloway were to go there and show out in crimson. 😭
  3. When AU's very mediocre quarterback is pulling an $800,000 NIL and the team turned another losing season, we know things are way out of whack. I'm not into subsidizing an inferior product just for the hell of it.
  4. UK owed Cal $33million if they fired him. It appears Cal walked away and, in the process, relinquished a $33million buyout. It's a little odd that Arkansas has made no public announcement.
  5. What other options does he have? Take their 💲, ball out another year and be worshipped like a star at uat doesn't sound like a bad decision to me. Heck, get a master's degree on their dime too.
  6. Until Oats took uat to the F4 this year, I didn't think much of him. He's a damn good coach, he knows how to develop players and this year he did it with a whole new coaching staff & mostly a new roster. I'd be fine if he just left the SEC altogether. We don't need our in-state rival challenging the legacy Bruce has built at Auburn.
  7. Is it really Auburn mediocrity, or is it just Auburn? Historically Auburn is middle of the pack, it's kinda always been that way.
  8. It's true we're nothing like Nebraska, in the last 7 years we have a 1-5 bowl record. We are happy we are going to bowl games, it's just sad we aren't winning them.
  9. Please explain this to me like I'm a 5 yr old. How does a scholarship player, who's also on the NIL payroll blow off a meeting with their coach for 2 weeks?
  10. The coaching staff informed KD he was not welcome to return next season. Multiple on-the-court + off-the-court issues lead to this decision. The guy knew the team rules, and he chose an alternate path resulting in his dismissal.
  11. And to think, I bragged non-stop about Auburn's depth and praised Bruce for spreading the wealth of playing time this season. I loved Auburn having fresh legs ready off the bench to come in and lock up a win.
  12. The courts ruled against NCAA transfer rules months ago, players are allowed multiple transfers and have immediate eligibility. Of course, the Supreme Court shot down the NCAA NIL rules years ago. Anything the NCAA even attempts to regulate or enforce leads straight to a lawsuit and court rulings have killed the organization's oversight/enforcement processes.
  13. KD was kicked out, Tre left without informing the coaches and Aden hasn't met with the coaches. Does that seem odd to anyone?
  14. Who do you think would be governing those parameters? The courts have rendered the NCAA obsolete relative to governance of NIL and student-athlete transfers.
  15. I've seen it mentioned that OTV is short on funds, so Bruce has to raise $$. Auburn needs quality personnel NOW. How can Bruce get out and pass the hat for $$ when he's out recruiting and shopping the portal?
  16. We are such a nice fan base. 😇 It's so much more pleasant to sugarcoat things and lay frosty icing over issues. It's no fun harping on the reality of back-to-back-to-back losing football seasons. The future is always bright, great things are happening with everyone in alignment. 🤩 In the end, everything will be fine ~ And if things aren't fine, it's not the end. 🥰🦄😘
  17. I bet he already has/had a landing spot before he bolted, and that's likely why he didn't tell the staff he was leaving.
  18. Great post, I agree 100%. That wide open transfer portal is the devil. It's got to feel near impossible for coaches to budget & plan his roster when he has no idea which player will bolt if the player doesn't get the PT they want OR if another program offers more $$ and competes for championships. Player can reach out to any number of programs to see who's interested in their services. There's nothing stopping a player from shopping. Auburn recently signed a few hot skill players, but what if our QB position doesn't pan out, what if the WR is slow to acclimate to college speed, can't get the timing down, or doesn't grasp the offensive scheme fast enough? Do they become disenfranchised and move on, or are they willing to wait their turn and develop within the system to gain experience for the future?
  19. It's kinda been proven to work up to this point anyway. Find some defense, get a few players to step up and let them score when needed, get a couple more players involved in letting the 3's rain down seems like a is a sensible approach to advance in the tourney. They've had a few elements come together at just the right time. I feel confident it all ends once they hit that UConn brick wall. 😄
  20. Dayum! I'm always shocked at what these college kids are pulling. 🤑
  21. Does CBP maybe have a development and schematic issue relative to the PG position? IDK, I may be reading into it too much. Can we all agree Oats is doing something right? The guy replaced his entire staff who all left for HC spots in the offseason. He only returned 27% of their minutes played (2 PLAYERS returned), he's working with basically a new roster. There were a lot of rival fans smirking and poking fun of Oats offensive philosophy and him totally ignoring defense. Looks like that team found a defense once they hit the tourney. There were a lot of rival fans laughing & poking fun at bama's early season losses, now it seems to have made them battle-tested and getting exposure & experience in live game action against the likes Purdue, Clemson, Arizona, Creighton even though they were close losses may have helped them find their way to their 1st ever F4.
  22. A bragging point the whole season was our experienced depth because Bruce plays so many guys and everyone gets quality minutes on the court. So "fresh legs" were touted as our strong suit.
  23. KD throwing up a brick at the end of the Yale game was hard on the stomach.
