Is Wendell scared to shoot?

Yeah I agree. Just they’re not very good scorers either. They both just seem to take the opportunities presented because there’s nobody on the team who can consistently create offense. But if Flan will keep attacking the basket he’ll score as much as he wants. Iowa can’t stay in front of him.

This team has no good scoring crew.

We have a puncher’s chance to do some damage. Yes, this has been a disappointing season, but this is the same team that lead the #1 team in the country by 17 on their home floor less than 2 weeks ago. Every year, you see unexpected teams make deep runs. That said, we’re more likely to make a 1st round exit than anything else.

We clearly run a flex offense. The cuts and screens are obvious. Now, they do their cuts and screens in a half-ass manner which allows defenses to easily predict where their player is going.

I agree he deserves our support. The way he’s built this program up is remarkable. I don’t see anyone that I would take seriously saying he should be fired. I think people are concerned that he didn’t address the scoring issue at guard for the past two seasons. The lack of shooting since Chuck Person has been gone is alarming.

The Guard play on this team is absolutely embarrassing. KD and Zep have no shooting ability and can’t create any offense on their own. Green has to do too much and is overexposed as the lone Guard who can score. There’s no interest in running any set plays or trying to find scoring opportunities through the flex offense. I wonder how many they need to win in the SEC tourney to make the NCAA tourney after we lose these next two to finish 19-12.

I don’t understand why we didn’t address shooting in the offseason as it was last year’s biggest weakness. Zep should’ve been encouraged to look elsewhere. Hopefully Bruce makes a big effort to bring in shooters next year. Anyone with doubts about Bruce is hilarious though. Definitely a Johnny come lately.

Not sure if you noticed during the coaching search, and AD search, and coaching firing, and AD firing, but these “insiders” don’t know anything.

I think we’ll be better. 8 wins might he a little much. I definitely wouldn’t bank Miss. St as a win. 7-5 would be my prediction, unless the roster gets some big upgrades.

I get playing 10-11 guys now. Give young players a chance to develop and see what we have in them. However, if players don’t step up, Bruce needs to really tighten his rotation come tourney time. Right now, that should only include Broome, Cardwell, Jaylin, Morris, Wendell, Donaldson, KD

KD, Zep, and Flan should’ve been encouraged to find transfer opportunities after last season. Bruce should’ve known that last year’s guards weren’t capable and needed to be replaced.

Sounds like a really solid hire. I wasn’t in favor of hiring Freeze, but he is proving me wrong.

Doesn’t every new coach bring in people he’s worked with? Weird to compare his hires to Saban hiring O’Brien. Saban can hire anyone he wants. Freeze isn’t quite at GOAT status. Also, considering every offensive position coach is rumored to have been hired, I’d say it’s very likely he’s selected his OC.

Is he being rumored as the OC? UNC has a really strong offense. When it says air raid tendencies does that mean deep routes?

It seems odd, especially for a coach known for offense. You think he’d turn the D over to whoever he picks as coordinator. At least enough to let them make their own hires.
