  1. Interesting...he still shows up on the roster. I also did a search on him to see if it had been reported anywhere that he left Auburn (and why) but didn't find anything...
  2. It's great to hear from you, @aubiefifty. Our first concern is your health and well-being. Please take whatever time you need to heal and feel better before you feel compelled to post here. I'm sorry your surgery was rougher than perhaps you were expecting and will continue to keep you in my prayers. Sending best wishes for a full and speedy recovery. Take care of yourself!!!
  3. What's the backstory? Who are the TSP dudes?
  4. Final Auburn 1 - UNI 0. Looks like a perfect game for Penta. Sure would like to see more offense from Auburn...
  5. How are you following the game? I clicked on the icon to listen to the game and get nothing. Thanks for any help you can provide.
  6. Sending best wishes for a full and speedy recovery. Will keep you in my prayers, @Mims44
  7. Will be praying for you, @aubiefifty and wishing you a speedy recovery.
  8. The only party that 'let' the Gators win is the AU basketball team.
  9. Well done! An AUsome tribute to a beloved Auburn legend.
  10. Along the same lines, saw this article earlier today... Auburn Named Transfer Portal Winner by The Athletic January 28, 2024 Auburn’s coaching staff has successfully acquired key players from the transfer portal, including a skilled wide receiver, a reliable offensive lineman, and solid defensive players, expected to boost the team’s performance in the upcoming 2024 season. Under the leadership of Hugh Freeze, Auburn’s recruiting efforts have improved, with the 2024 class ranked 8th after the early signing period and notable additions from the transfer portal. The notable transfer additions outweigh the losses of starting quarterback Robby Ashford, linebacker Cam Riley, and safety Donovan Kaufman, who have yet to find new landing spots. Auburn’s transfer additions have been rated as four-star transfers by 247Sports. Auburn’s coaching staff has been successful in acquiring key players from the transfer portal, strengthening the team in crucial areas. The additions of a skilled wide receiver, a reliable offensive lineman, and several solid defensive players are expected to boost Auburn’s performance in the upcoming 2024 season. These acquisitions have caught the attention of outlets like The Athletic, with Manny Navarro highlighting Auburn as one of the “winners” among SEC teams in the transfer portal. Under the leadership of Hugh Freeze, Auburn’s recruiting efforts have been on the rise. The 2024 class is currently ranked 8th after the early signing period, and the team has also secured talent from the transfer portal. Notable additions include Robert Lewis, a standout receiver from Georgia State who had 70 catches and 877 yards in 2023, Percy Lewis, a left tackle from Mississippi State with seven starts in 2023, Trill Carter, a defensive tackle with 31 career starts from Texas and Minnesota, Dorian Mausi, a linebacker with 27 starts from Duke, and Jerrin Thompson, a safety with 31 starts from Texas. These new additions outweigh the losses of starting quarterback Robby Ashford, who transferred to South Carolina, as well as linebacker Cam Riley and safety Donovan Kaufman, both of whom ranked among the top 11 in tackles for the team last season and have yet to find new landing spots. Auburn’s notable transfer additions so far, including Antonio Kite from Alabama, Jerrin Thompson from Texas, Percy Lewis from Mississippi State, and Rico Walker from Maryland, have all been rated as four-star transfers according to 247Sports. Other SEC teams that have been recognized as “winners” in the transfer portal by Navarro include Ole Miss, Kentucky, and Missouri. Teams like Arkansas and Florida are seen as having “broken even,” while Alabama, Mississippi State, and Vanderbilt are viewed as the “losers” in this category.
  11. Have no idea what happened but she clearly did something seriously bad. The team had a very successful weekend...and today she's fired and erased from University web sites. Auburn isn't going to spill details so I guess we'll have to wait and see if an insider talks or an enterprising journalist gets to the bottom of it. So far, al.com, oanews, and montgomery advertiser just saying she was fired, effective immediately without any details. Hate seeing Auburn get negative publicity.
  12. So what? There's nothing to stop him from doing it now.
  13. See above post...Bruce did not recruit him out of high school.
  14. He was a 3 star coming out of high school and Auburn did not recruit him (nor did Alabama). He had 3 offers - UAB, South Alabama, and Ohio. https://247sports.com/Player/mark-sears-46083972/high-school-241203/ Bruce went after him in the transfer portal last year but lost to Alabama. He said he should have tried harder to get him from the portal.
  15. Meanwhile, Alabama 109 over LSU 88. And, they signed (2) 5-star players for the 2024 class, both of whom are McDonald's All-Americans. Nate Oats owns Bruce Pearl. Hate it. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/two-alabama-basketball-signees-named-mcdonalds-all-americans/ar-BB1h8Te2
  16. Must have missed one of them...women's basketball and what else?
  17. ESPN metrics picking Bama... https://www.si.com/college/auburn/basketball/espns-metrics-believe-auburn-basketball-will-lose-to-alabama Hope they're WRONG. I want Auburn to beat everybody, of course, but especially Bama.
  18. I know that was the question. But you said it was unlikely that 5 would flip to 1 rival. My response was to your assertion.
  19. Maybe you don't consider FSU a Bama rival, but 5 Bama players have flipped to them... https://thespun.com/sec/alabama-crimson-tide/five-alabama-football-players-have-transferred-to-florida-state P.S. After Bama was gifted FSU's spot in this year's playoffs, I suspect FSU considers Bama a rival...
  20. I'm surprised Alabama still isn't ranked in the top 25. Undefeated in SEC play, average 90+ points/game, ahead of Auburn in NET ranking. Thoughts on why they aren't?
  21. Um...that was exactly the issue I was addressing.
  22. Here's a post I made on Tuesday in the Alabama Loss thread. I'm not the only one who has made similar posts. Agree with @auburnatl1 and @KansasTiger. While there's no question that recruiting needed to be a high priority, I don't think it's acceptable to give up on the current team or to publicly imply that they aren't capable. There are many examples of highly motivated underdogs pulling off upsets in sports. Cadillac did an amazing job as interim head coach after Harsin was fired. If Freeze thought it was more important to devote most of his time to recruiting, he could have put someone else in charge of this season...can't think of anybody better than Cadillac. This team proved against Georgia and Alabama that they were capable of much more than they showed the rest of the year. With some love, focused attention, discipline and leadership, maybe some of the fiascos could have been avoided. Freeze's comments (feeling awful, taking responsibility, etc.) after each of the big disappointments this year ring hollow to me because there's no indication he did anything to course correct...just didn't seem to think there's anything he could have done differently/better.
