  1. Really happy to hear we're trouncing Yale (ahem...basketball). And, of course, everybody else...this team is amazing!
  2. I've lost track...have we lost out on all of the promising prospects who visited Auburn in recent weeks?...have they all committed elsewhere or are we still in the hunt for some of them?
  3. I had the same reaction. They showed Auburn for about 2 seconds later in the broadcast in a screen shot with 4 teams' reactions, each team taking up a quarter of the screen. Typical treatment of Auburn.
  4. Ain't that the truth. Unbelievable that they're hosting yet again with the season they had...and ahead of Texas A&M, no less. On last year's selection show the hosts were gobsmacked that Bama got a top-eight seeding and were at a loss to explain it. And their regional was by far the easiest to assure that Bama and Fouts would make it to OKC. They were quickly exposed when they got to OKC but, IMO, get favored treatment again this year. And how many times has Auburn been sent to Tallahassee...
  5. I was able to watch the last half of the game. Was interesting to hear the commentators talk about how excited CBT is about the incoming recruits, especially pitchers. Hate that this year was a bust, especially for Pierce and Irish due to injuries. Not sure what's going on with Gonzalez...does anyone else know? Any feel for who might return from this year's team?
  6. Thank you, Jaylin Williams, for giving your all to Auburn. What a class act! I wish him a lifetime of happiness and success and will always remember him as one of Auburn's finest.
  7. I just checked the roster and she's still listed but I've also wondered what happened to her...
  8. In the only upset of the day, #11 South Carolina beat #6 Mississippi State 8-4. Denver Bryant had herself a night for South Carolina...4 hits. Jesse Blaine was the Mississippi State catcher. I think I saw that she has a .350 or so batting average??? I missed some of the game but didn't see her have any success at the plate tonight.
  9. I wondered the same thing. Maybe expecting a bunt?
  10. Game between #7 GEORGIA and #10 AUBURN is underway... UPDATES: - After 1: Auburn 1 - Georgia 2 (bad throwing error by Wohlers cost Auburn an out and a couple of scores) - After 2: Still Auburn 1 - Georgia 2 - After 3: Auburn 2 - Georgia 2 - After 4: Still Auburn 2 - Georgia 2 - After 5: Still Auburn 2 - Georgia 2 (bad running error by Packer may have cost us a run, so far AU has 6 hits while GA has 3) - After 6: Still Auburn 2 - Georgia 2 - After 7: Still Auburn 2 - Georgia 2 - After 8: Still Auburn 2 - Georgia 2 - After 9: Still Auburn 2 - Georgia 2 - After 10: Still Auburn 2 - Georgia 2 (Shelby Lowe replaced Maddie Penta to begin the 10th inning) - After 11: Still Auburn 2 - Georgia 2 -After 12: Still Auburn 2 - Georgia 2 (AU took a risk and walked a GA top hitter to load the bases with 2 outs. Lowe struck the next batter out...whew!) - After 13: Still Auburn 2 - Georgia 2 (GA had a runner on 3rd with 2 outs but the next batter hit a fly ball to shallow left for the third out...whew again!) - Top of the 14th, KK McCrary hits a 3-run homer with 2 outs and AU fans are ecstatic...we think we're going to win! Bottom of the 14th, GA answers with a 3-run homer of their own, with no outs, followed by a solo home run to win the game... Final score is Georgia 6 - Auburn 5 Shelby Lowe called Dean to the circle in the bottom of the 14th and it looked like she was telling him she couldn't see. He talked to her for a minute and she stayed in. After pitching brilliantly for 4 innings, she was leaving pitches over the middle of the plate. Anybody know what happened? Defense was also sloppy in the bottom of the 14th. Awful way to end the game.
  11. #5 Missouri vs #13 Ole Miss should start around 2:30 this afternoon. #5 Missouri beat #13 Ole Miss 3-1. Ole Miss only struck out once (I think). Gotta hand it to them for their performance over the past few weeks. So, looks like Auburn vs Georgia should start about 5:10. Hope Auburn pitchers shut down Georgia's HR offense...
  12. LSU vs Bama game getting interesting. Bama scored 2 runs in the top of the 1st inning and score remained 2-0 until the bottom of the 6th inning. LSU loaded the bases with walks and hit-by-pitches and Bama pitcher walked a batter and then hit a batter to tie things up at 2-2 heading into the 7th... UPDATES: - Heading to the 11th still tied 2-2. Bama says they 'own' the 11th inning because they beat us in 11. GO BENGAL TIGERS!!! - Headed to the 12th still tied 2-2. This one has gone 3+ hours at this point so looks like the rest of today's games could be delayed. - Headed to the 13th still tied 2-2. - And, it's on to the 14th. Bama has used 2 pitchers, Beaver and Briski. Berzon has thrown all 200 pitches for LSU today. - With the bases loaded in the bottom of the 14th, LSU WALKS IT OFF!!! Final score LSU 3 - Bama 2
  13. After being in last place in the SEC standings, Ole Miss took 2 out of 3 games in their last 2 SEC series...vs Auburn and vs Arkansas. Tonight they soundly defeated Kentucky 7-2 to start the SEC Tournament. They are peaking at the right time! Four games scheduled for tomorrow ( Wed, May 8 ) on SEC network: 10:00 AM CDT #8 LSU vs #9 Alabama 35 minutes after previous game ends, #5 Missouri vs #13 Ole Miss 4:00 PM CDT #7 Georgia vs #10 Auburn 35 minutes after previous game ends, #6 Mississippi State vs #11 South Carolina
  14. Robby is such an outstanding athlete he likely could have had a professional career if he had faced the music and changed positions a couple of years ago. I wish him the best.
  15. Ole Miss is on a roll...they took the series from Auburn last weekend and just took the series from Arkansas tonight. SEC Tournament should be interesting.
  16. I felt exactly the same. Was so discouraged by last night's game I almost didn't watch today. Really glad I did. I think it was during the Arkansas series that Mark Fuller (former Auburn baseball pitcher, pitching coach, and broadcast host of a lot of Auburn baseball home games on SEC+) was tapped to join Amy Reif on the broadcast for one game. He said he didn't know softball like he does baseball but I enjoyed his perspective. Early on in the game he commented that while Arkansas looked comfortable and confident at the plate, Auburn looked just the opposite...and that continued throughout the game and was reflected in the score. This series, Tresvik has looked defeated as soon as she steps into the box. Weak swings with her arms, not using her legs, walks back to the dugout hanging her head. Peralta, too, at times. The team as a whole hit better today but they all need to show confidence, good form, and aggression in the box (IMHO). Can't win without runs! Milanowski was great today!
  17. Isn't graduation today? If so, that probably dissuaded some people from attending (traffic, hotel reservations, etc.) But agree...would love to see the stadium full at every game. Wish I lived close enough to attend. I was thinking last night about Penta and Lowe pitching most of the innings these past 4 years and wondering what that means for next year. So happy for Widra's success today and hope it carries over into the post season and to next year. Rolfe is already a sophomore and hasn't had much success when she has had opportunities. She was a very highly-rated recruit so hope things will click for her (and Tamborra) SOON. Maybe the new coach will be able to acquire a top pitcher or two from the portal.
  18. What a brilliant job in the circle by Widra...soooo darned happy for her and for the team. There were a couple of insane decisions in the game (Wohlers rounding 3rd for home and being being easily thrown out, Lech - as slow as she is - bunting with 0 outs and nobody on base, McNemar trying to steal second and being thrown out by a mile, etc.) but a great win in the end. Glad Penta and Lowe got to rest today. War Eagle!
  19. Looks like he visited Oklahoma last week but I didn't find anything online about any other scheduled visits (or a commitment)...
  20. I watched this morning and was a nervous wreck, too. Thought about turning it off and waiting for your updates but I'm glad I kept it on. GREAT WIN - WDE!!!
  21. Whew...so so glad AU won this match. Hate losing ANY competition to Bama. WAR DAMN EAGLE!!!
  22. I wasn't able to watch the game in real time but watched the replay. I didn't see/hear Cohen on that broadcast...may have somehow missed it, I guess. What did he have to say?
  23. He seems like a really good human being - happy to see him succeeding at the next level.
