  1. Sore loser. Like McCarron after the kick six. Sad.
  2. Hard to get too excited this far out. IF Auburn can get its act together and avoid fiascos like 2023's NMSU and MD games, they may have a chance at holding on to 2025/2026 recruits. If not, it's hard for me to believe these guys will stick with us when the 'elite' programs will be after them.
  3. Virtually every AU men's basketball fan (including me) is still upset with the way that final 4 game ended. But in fairness, it wasn't UVA's fault...blame rests with the officials. If the shoe had been on the other foot, we would have gladly taken the W and moved to the finals just like they did. Sucks, but it is what it is.
  4. The correct spelling is Tagovailoa. I agree that all the announcers pronounce it as though there is an 'N' in it (sounds to me like they say Tungavailoa). But if you look it up, there's no 'N'.
  5. If the NIL contract specifies the athlete's obligations in order to receive the money, the NIL collective wouldn't pay money that isn't owed...so the NIL collective wouldn't be hounding the athlete to pay anything back after the fact.
  6. Why not structure a NIL contract to pay out a certain amount of money for regular season games and a separate amount of money for the bowl game. If you don't play the bowl game, you don't get paid for it. Would also include a clause that if the player walks out on the team during the season, they don't get paid. Seems fair.
  7. Interesting and touching documentary. Agree with WVR that Freeze, in particular, and the other AU coaches seem to genuinely connect with players from all backgrounds. Perry comes across as a very humble and polite young man who is surrounded by good people who love, support, and guide him. I wish him tremendous success in life. P.S. Wish all these documentaries had better sound quality. It's often very difficult to hear the speaker over background noise or over background music that drowns out the speaker...
  8. Yes, thank you, @Paladin. I always read your posts because they provide real information, not just opinions - and I've often wondered how much time it must take you to keep up with so many recruits. I appreciate you and your contributions to this forum.
  9. It was not fun to watch. Coaches and players need to do better. Bama has taken the lead in basketball as well as football.
  10. Just one week before Bama had a narrow win against GA, they almost (and should have) lost to an Auburn team (without a single 5-star on the team) that finished with a 6-6 record. That should be factored in to all the talk about how great Bama is and how they steadily improved over the year. They aren't invincible. But no team in college football has a bigger sense of entitlement than Bama. I'm rooting for: Washington Michigan FSU Texas
  11. No. Mariah, and the other freshman signees, were all highly-rated high school players. MARIAH PENTA Hometown: Chesapeake City, Maryland High School: Bohemia Manor High School Club: Newton Rock Position: Utility (Middle Infielder/Outfielder) Bat/Throw: Right/Right Highlights: Ranked the 15th overall recruit of the 2023 class by Extra Inning Softball … an all-county and all-conference selection at Bohemia Manor … held a .500 batting average with four home runs … earned county player of the week honors … competed with Newton Rock club organization … knocked four doubles and 10 doubles for a .500 on-base plus slugging percentage … adding a .436 batting average … helped Newton Rock finish as runner up at the 2020 Triple Crown Nationals … member of the Junior National Honors Society … a three-time honor roll member … also earned the Student-Athlete Education Award … outside of softball, competed in gymnastics, volleyball, soccer and swim … a second generation student-athlete … her mother, Susan, was a standout softball student-athlete at the University of Delaware … is the younger sister of current Auburn softball student-athlete, Maddie Penta. Dean on Penta: "She is a very athletic player, who has the ability to play multiple positions. Mariah has shown tremendous growth in her hitting, especially in developing consistent power."
  12. That's what I meant when I said I wish he was doing it at Auburn...wish Auburn had the oline, receivers, play callers, etc., to make Bo's success possible. Would have been cool to have another Auburn legend and another Heisman statue in front of JHS.
  13. Bo has been terrific this year. He definitely helped his Heisman chances tonight. I think he'll win it...rooting for him. Sad that he isn't doing it at Auburn!
  14. On paper we have a more skilled and talented team than nmsu. On the field, however...
  15. We paid them $1.85 million to come to our house and beat the crap out of us. A stunningly incompetent performance by Auburn. Why would any elite player sign up for this?
  16. Heartbreaking to see people who have seemingly 'made it' make really dumb choices that can upend their lives. This is at least Marshall's 3rd encounter with the law. He had everything to lose and nothing to gain by whatever he was up to in Columbus. Reminiscent of Greg Robinson's mind-bogglingly stupid decisions in recent years.
  17. I hope your surgery was successful and I wish you a speedy recovery.
  18. @BritishAuburnFan Welcome, Paul! Your journey to Auburn is one for the ages and we love that you love Auburn as much as we do. What are your plans for your trip to Auburn? Unfortunately, I won't be at the game but I hope you have connected with Auburn fans who will show you around and ensure you have a wonderful experience. WAR EAGLE!
  19. This is not Dee Ford. We have ANOTHER British Auburn fan - Paul Mortimer from Westhoughton. Read the OP. It's a great story!!!
  20. No broad brushes. As I clearly stated, I'm talking about highly paid people who are fired for cause but get huge payouts. It is a small but highly visible group of people. And I would guess that most people think it's not right.
  21. IMHO, the notion of corporate execs, coaches, etc., getting HUGE payouts when they are fired for poor results, bad behavior, incompetence, etc. is beyond ridiculous and the practice should stop. The people at the top are already privileged to 'earn' huge salaries that should set them up for life. Meanwhile the other 99% can be unceremoniously booted from jobs due to factors outside of their control (outsourcing, corporate mergers, bad economy, corporate malfeasance, etc.) and many get little to nothing to tide them over. Life isn't fair to be sure, but inequities like this are controllable.
  22. Thank you for bringing this to our attention - love the opportunity to support members of our Auburn Family.
  23. He looks very good - who does the staff think we can get that is better?
