  1. The Texas A&M quarterback is killing it. He looks really good and I am afraid it is going to be a rough few weeks for us. It seems that we play the best teams in the SEC over the next four weeks. https://www.espn.com/college-football/qbr/_/group/8
  2. Well, I think Ole Miss will win the west. This is finally the year that the SEC is crap, and he can score a bunch of points. I am sure that this will not be a popular opinion. Alabama looks dreadful and I love it.
  3. They will go back to him. They have no choice. The other QBs are horrible and with that OL, they have to have a running QB.
  4. I think we win by 35. I also think we are as bland as can be.
  5. I’m not saying don’t play him. I’m just saying work him back into the rotation.
  6. I will say this… Samford is a good fcs team with the top QB in FCs, but on defense they are built to stop the pass and are just awful against the run. We could run for 450+ yards against Sanford and win 49-10. While working on the pass, if it is not working, this game is going to be closer than people want to see. So it better work, or we are going to start running the ball a lot. I once again think we will come out running, get up by a few scores, and then work on the passing game. We don’t want another Jacksonville State game.
  7. At the end of the day it is obvious (because HF has said it about 7 times over the last week, including coming out of halftime Saturday) that HF is not happy so far with Thorne. He said he needs to play confident or he will not be playing much the second half. When they pulled Thorne in the 3rd the look on HF was not good. I know he is new at AU but he is a 2 year starter and HF has said he is making mistakes he should not make. He said it this past week. I don’t think this is what the coaches were expecting. Instead of a ready made QB who just has to learn the playbook, they are having to coach him up. And Robby… I wish he would switch positions like kodi for the good of the team. I remember hearing the Gatewood talk for years. He is at TE now.
  8. We agree with you. It’s the coach you need to convince. Sounds like he is determined to get RA involved. It is a little disappointing but he is the best QB guru we have ever had on the plains, other than maybe Borges. It also sounds like he is very disappointed in Thorne already, and you could see it in the game the other night. Thorne just need to make quicker decisions.
  9. As a quarterback that has only been on campus for three months, and only been through fall practice, they need to let him sling it to see what he has in a real game.
  10. Very good points and I agree with you. But I can see why they did it. This was the coach’s first game at AU. He must make a statement with a win. You score and then you get a little nervous after Umass goes down the field the first drive. So we get a few easy TDs on the ground to pad the lead. The second half we had a pick six, Thorne threw a bomb for 40 yards, and at that point Thorne is out of the game. I guess we could have kept him in there to just throw in like crazy but we were up 5 TDs at that point. Kind of a catch 22.
  11. I have been ragging on Rivals for a while now, but there is a wonderful article on the bunker about the AU fans that showed up in California. Pay site so I can’t post it but needless to say, the team was overwhelmed in a good way by the support. Auburn is special
  12. I have a tough time believing that to be true. If we are using a failed package of plays to make a player happy while forfeiting a good game plan, then we are in trouble. I think we simply thought we would be able to run on Cal and they stacked the box. Our game plan went south quickly , and when trying the student body left with Robby did not work, we were in a real bind.
  13. Defense, special team, Jay F, Rivaldo, and the OL (minus a few sacks).
  14. Good point. To me the biggest disappointment of the season so far has been Thorne. This guy was a two-year starter on a Big Ten team. He should not look scared. But we also have to remember that he has only been through fall practice with this team, and only had two scrimmages of real football before last weekend. Robby has been through spring and still struggles. At this point quarterback, once again, looks to be an issue. Unbelievable.
  15. yep. Thorne was playing poorly so we put in RA. We get a first down running, and on 1st and 10 Robby throws a terrible ball into triple cov that should have been picked. Yikes. Coaches quickly put Thorne back in the game. The bottom line is that we cannot keep subbing in and out quarterbacks.
  16. Good point. Did not see many wide receivers get open at all. Where are shorter and hooks?
  17. It starts at QB. The OL struggled a little, especially the Juco. And the WR are not getting separation. Where are shorter and hooks? TE Fairweather made some great catches but he was covered. He is just a beast.
