The problem is that people see what they want to see. There are people in this thread that even argue these numbers.

I actually thought the OL looked fine on several plays and that PT was just awful. Of course there were plays where the defense blitzed that they were overwhelmed but overall they really were not that bad. The OL looked very good running the ball as well. This is primarily a QB problem and we don’t have one on the roster.

I will say that the ONLY HS qb we recruited worth a darn over the last decade was Nix and he would immediately make us much better today, but the failed recruiting and coaching from Gus and Harsin left him no choice to leave… and good thing he did. People that see where this program is now but are still defending the last 2 coaches have an agenda, plain and simple. Everyone can see we need players and it starts at QB, then OL.

Sounds like you may need to go pull for another team. This is a 3-4 year project at least. It took several years to sink this program. It will take years to fix. We will be good again as long as we keep recruiting well.

I actually don’t think so. I just watched the HF presser. That opening question and answer session made it sound like he was highly upset that we could not hit open receivers. I think we are seeing his confidence in Pt plummet. …but I agree with the overall premise of what you said. It doesn’t matter.

I guess I just don’t understand why people would think they would see anything different? I posted it in the prediction thread. We can’t run the ball. We have no identity. I thought we would lose by 3+ touchdowns. The only surprise is how awful Thorne played AGAIN. He is TJ bad, or worse. We already knew about Robby. We are the perfect case study on how to run a program into the ground over the last several years. HF has his work cut out for him.

Gus and Harsin did this to us. People need to understand it will take years to fix. It took us years to get here. It’s going to take us a long time to get out of it.

Thorne is a huge disappointment. He was completely rattled and held the ball too long. He had 3 guys wide open, including one that was open, and missed by 10 yards. we should have been ahead at halftime. The playcalling is not great, but the Thorne quarterback play is atrocious and affects everything. He is awful, like TJ awful. The coaches are just as pissed and surprised as we are… he cannot complete simple passes. He was brought in as a 2 year starter and just stinks. …and Robby is Robby. we need to recruit 2 QBs this year.

We are exactly where I thought we would be with 40 new players, new coaches, and new plays. Considering the important offensive players that did not even go through spring practice and are starting, how would anyone realistically expect anything different? These guys are all learning a new scheme, with new play calls, with new coaches, in a new environment. I’m just happy that I get to watch them and that the coaches are trying to build quality depth with recruiting. This is a huge uphill battle but in a few years we will be good

Usually, I am an optimist. But taking off my orange and blue glasses, this is what I see … We can’t run the ball. Thorne is our leading rusher this season. OL is having trouble. RB are slow to hit the hole, maybe because there is not one. That is shocking. We turn the ball over constantly which is our biggest problem. WRs are not making plays. Injury bug hit us. Our best nickel is out for the season. We are playing on the road against a coach that cannot lose this game… for his own job is on the line. Their QB leads the league in QBR. Their defense is 3rd in the country in 3rd down defense. They have more talent than us at just about every position. We are over a TD underdog now. Keeping it close would be a surprise. Winning would be shocking. I would rather play any other team in the SEC this week.

It is all about the turnovers. We dominated in every aspect, driving on them at will. We just kept turning the ball over here in the end zone. And then we turning the ball over on the 10 yard line, giving them an easy score, or they would have only scored seven. it really is about the turnovers.
