Fan Balloting Begins For Doak Walker Award

AUBURN - Auburn senior running backs Ronnie Brown and Carnell Williams were named as semifinalists for the Doak Walker Award Monday, and now fans can help with the voting.

A poll has been established on ESPN.com at http://sports.espn.go.com/chat/sportsnatio...stranker?id=215. The results of the poll will help determine the finalists for the award, which is given to the nation's top running back. The winner of the poll will receive one official vote.

The 2004 Doak Walker Award will be presented Feb. 15, 2005 at the Fairmont Hotel in Dallas.

Williams has rushed for 963 yards and 10 touchdowns on 186 carries this season. He's also caught 15 passes for 134 yards and one touchdown in helping lead Auburn to a 10-0 overall record and 7-0 mark in Southeastern Conference play.

Brown, meanwhile, has gained 740 yards and seven touchdowns on 107 carries. He is second on Auburn in receptions with 25 in helping guide the Tigers to a No. 2 ranking is the Associated Press Top 25 poll.
