Tigermike 3,039
I received this in an e-mail. If you are interested, do the links. Subject: FW: Get Your Cell Phone On The DoNotCall List... Online! Nothing to do with technology (ok, just a little bit) but in a few weeks, cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sales calls. Get your cell number on the National Do Not Call List! It blocks your number for 5 years. I just did it and I like the idea. DaddyBoyAU 119
Not necessary. Check Snopes To summarize, mobile phone companies are getting together to provide 411 service for cell phone users, but they will not be providing that list to telemarketers. It doesn't hurt to add your mobile number to the national do not call registry but there is no reason to do so.

LegalEagle 22
There was a segment on TV last night about the e-mail. It's just BS. (Please do not confuse this BS with the BcS of college football fame.)

It's the same thing. In fact, if I run across something that is totally untrue or stupid, I'll just say, "That's a steaming pile of BCS!"
Ranger12 46
Just so that everbody knows that is bogus, one of my major clients is Cingular. As stated above, the cell phone companies are getting a 411 list together of cell phone customers. Your name will not be on that list unless you ask for it to be! If you do ask for it to be put on that list, but do not want telemarketers to call you , then you would have to add your name to the do not call list also. The internet and talk radio shows gave out so much bad info about this that we have sent out a bulletin to all are agents to properly educate our customers.
