The Fed has spent over $32B in the last 20 years funding AGW "corroboration" research. They do not fund research that takes a skeptical look at AGW theories. $33b....they've spent another $80b during the same period on tech research related to AGW and green energy subsidies. Gee, I wonder why every report comes to the conclusion that global warming is real?

How is it that none of the climate models actually correctly back-casts the climate? and have all been wrong on the outcome of the last 20 years? Have you ever read the IPCC report? It basically says, all our predictions are wrong; but it's still global warming...and even though more was wrong in this last report; their confidence went up! When in doubt; tell the big lie. Their last claim is warming 1/20th of their original predictions. Give them time...they'll walk it all back...

Research designed to take a "skeptical look" at AGW is not valid science in the first place. Research on AGW seeks information that either supports the theory or not. Scientists are obligated to report either outcome.

"Tell the big lie" shows us all we need to know about your opinion. You believe AGW it is a vast, global hoax perpetuated by scientists from all over the world collaborating together.

Is that correct?

The government funds AGW research in order to validate its desire to control all aspects of our lives. If research could result in contradicting the government's goal, that research will not be funded. Since so much of the climate money comes from the government, scientists are reluctant to research data that may contradict, no money in that. Better to submit for grants that only promote AGW.

That is not science. That is Lysenkoism https://en.wikipedia.../Trofim_Lysenko

That's what I was looking to hear!

Finally! A concise, to the point "Hoax Denier Manifesto". (Can I assume it's original?)

I suspect it will come in useful. Don't worry, you'll get credit.

Thank you.

Well the United Nations seems to agree with me.

[quote

Economic Systems: The alarmists keep telling us their concern about global warming is all about man's stewardship of the environment. But we know that's not true. A United Nations official has now confirmed this.

At a news conference last week in Brussels, Christiana Figueres, executive secretary of U.N.'s Framework Convention on Climate Change, admitted that the goal of environmental activists is not to save the world from ecological calamity but to destroy capitalism.

"This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution," she said.

Referring to a new international treaty environmentalists hope will be adopted at the Paris climate change conference later this year, she added: "This is probably the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves, which is to intentionally transform the economic development model for the first time in human history."

The only economic model in the last 150 years that has ever worked at all is capitalism. The evidence is prima facie: From a feudal order that lasted a thousand years, produced zero growth and kept workdays long and lifespans short, the countries that have embraced free-market capitalism have enjoyed a system in which output has increased 70-fold, work days have been halved and lifespans doubled.

Figueres is perhaps the perfect person for the job of transforming "the economic development model" because she's really never seen it work. "If you look at Ms. Figueres' Wikipedia page," notes Cato economist Dan Mitchell: Making the world look at their right hand while they choke developed economies with their left.

"Destroy capitalism"? :-\ I didn't see where she said that.

You sound like one of those people who fear the black helicopters and the UN coming to take your guns.

Getting personal again, Homer.

"This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution,"
She is certainly not referring to Socialism or Communism which only creates widespread poverty.

She said nothing about destroying capitalism, so thanks for confirming my point.

And about our traditional economic development models? (aka as big corporation exploitation)

Do you think we just need to keep on doing what we are doing?

Seriously Homey, don't act stupid...You know exactly what she is talking about....this is one of those cases where your willfully ignorant responses are just absurd.

And for the record, the only thing worse than "capitalism" is everything else that came before it. Every time you well meaning progressives try to "improve" us we get Socialism, Communism, Facism, Nazism...or pick the "ism" dejour that says some faceless bureaucrat thousands of miles away knows better how to do something they've never done than you do... and they know better how to spend your money than you do. This is all about following the gov't money...you seriously believe that UN bureaucrats trying to take US $$ and transfer them to the rest of the world are altruists? They are altruists like Al Gore was altruistic in advocating for carbon exchanges that he subsequently used to make $100m. None of these folks have forsaken their evil carbon rich lifestyles ... they still live in mansions, fly on private planes and drive gas guzzlers. I tend not to listen to people saying one thing and doing another. But hey, just like in most things, hypocrisy is not much of an issue for you liberals.

And, your whole proposition on not funding research that is skeptical of the current cause-celeb has to be the most ignorant statement masquerading as informed reason I have ever read. The entire scientific method is built around rigorous investigation, skepticism, testing. modification, retesting...so claiming research aimed at validating current assumptions to be anti-science is absolutely Orwellian.

Well she seems to be a Communist which by definition is anti-capitalist.

United Nations climate chief Christiana Figueres said that democracy is a poor political system for fighting global warming. Communist China, she says, is the best model. China may be the world’s top emitter of carbon dioxide and struggling with major pollution problems of their own, but the country is “doing it right” when it comes to fighting global warming says Figueres.

“They actually want to breathe air that they don’t have to look at,” she said. “They’re not doing this because they want to save the planet. They’re doing it because it’s in their national interest.”

Read more at http://www.liveleak....MyOqJ0YR8YDF.99

The Wall Street Journal notes that China’s air quality was so bad that about “1.2 million people died prematurely in China in 2010 as a result of air pollution” and Chinese government figures show that “lung cancer is now the leading cause of death from malignant tumors. Many of those dying are nonsmokers.”

Well, I don't know exactly, but I can make a guess.

But to insist she is saying "destroy capitalism" narrow minded, partisan driven, mindless propaganda. If refusing to accept such ridiculous hyperbole makes me "willfully ignorant" then it's clear it is you who supports the "absurd".

Anyone who believes that aliens who could traverse the light years of interstellar space to get to Earth wouldn't have the technology to counter measure a thin piece of tin foil has REALLY got to be an idiot.

My friend Alan Carlin’s long-awaited book, Environmentalism Gone Mad (published by Stairway Press), discusses “How a Sierra Club Activist and Senior EPA Analyst Discovered a Radical Green Energy Fantasy.”

Educated as a Caltech scientist and MIT Ph.D. economist, Carlin is a true environmentalist, not an ideological wild-eyed dreamer. He explains how “the environmental movement of the 1970s has been hijacked by a radical fringe who are attempting to change the way of life for all Americans through EPA regulations drafted in response to a blueprint prepared by the movement itself and aimed particularly at forcing those who do not accept their radical ideology to abide by it by Federal fiat.

Carlin refers to a “climate-industrial complex” patterned after a “military-industrial complex” term that President Eisenhower warned against in his 1961 farewell address.

The environmental movement became the home of all the old communists after the cold war ended. The left has never forgiven the United States for that.

Congratulations!

You have contributed to my archives.
