So the crappy judgement call  for many republicans is what is worse - trumps deep personal dysfunction and the danger of his radicalizing base, or Biden and the progressive direction he is taking the country. 

Personally I made a judgment in 2020 and voted non Republican for the first time in my life.  Even though I disagreed on most of bidens positions - I made a call that trump and maga represented a greater long term threat. However it wasn’t easy.

My point is when someone like Mikey says he now wants a different option than trump but he is still totally against bidens policies - why do dems run to the tired pulverization of racist and such? Candidly for the Republican base to evolve out of nutty, it’s gonna need millions more like Mikey. We have to get back where we’re arguing/“smacking” about left v right policy - and not cults, corruption, insurrections, dementia, narcissism, lap tops, and porn stars. And more republicans having an open mind is step 1. Ps the dems may need to clean up their house some as well

I can only speak for myself. I’ve never said all folks still voting for trump are racist or necessarily one thing or cause. I think you sometimes use the same broad brush you accuse others of using. This is one of those times. If there’s one group I’ve identified the most with in recent years it’s never Trump Republicans, not Democrats. Ultimately, to me the most glaringly obvious reason to not vote for Trump even if you prefer his policies is the incredibly corrosive impact he’s had on our culture, institutions, rule of law and the utter dysfunction he breeds. He’s unfit at his core and it wouldn’t matter if I agreed with everything he said or previously did— besides the fact it’s unlikely he ever did anything out of principle that would drive future behavior.
