I'm anxious to see the new Busch Stadium. I went to Game 2 of the '82 series at the Old Busch Stadium. Quite a memorable moment in my life. Darn busy schedules!!!! Nice try. The situation between Bags and management was poorly handled by both sides. Bags did a few stupid things too. It isn't all McClain's fault. Still, it's heartbreaking. We stink, so I'm sure after ya'll make the playoffs, you'll point to this series against "The first place team in the NL Central" (like we deserve it, we're trying to give it away, just that Houston and Cincy don't want it either) as what turned your season around. Rookie Reyes on the mound tonight, if you're in ATL check it out. In spring training, when the Cards played the Braves, LaRussa instructed Reyes to follow what Smoltz does, both on and off the mound. He blew up at the media following Saturday night's loss, when starter Ponson gave up 6 runs in 2 1/2 innings. Someone in the media asked about the problems the starters have had, and TLR said "Kiss my (backside)." I lost a lot of respect for him at that one. I think if LaRussa pulls Reyes after the rain delay (3-2 Cardinals after the back-to-back homers that brought the rain in the third), the Cardinals win the game. Reyes gave up 3 more runs in the 3rd when the rain ended, and Smoltz & the bullpen shut 'em down the rest of the way for a 6-3 win. The Reds lost to the Brewers, so the Cardinals maintain their lead for the timebeing, and the Reds come to the suddenly-hot Braves after the Cardinals leave town, so my guess is the Cardinals keep their lead and wind up winning the Central with a horrible record.
