CFN: The "Real" Top 5

It started off good enough with Pete Fiutak's pics.

But I found this frustrating.

2. USC : Each team in the top five is going to have a close game on the road, so having to intercept a Hail Mary pass on the last play of the game isn't absolutely damaging to the Trojans. As the running game continues to improve, the Trojans will get better each week, leading to the game of their year against Oregon (ha, you thought Cal).

3. Auburn : If, IF South Carolina WR Jared Cook catches the deep ball late in the fourth quarter, it's conceivable that Auburn may have gotten knocked off. But, it didn't happen. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. Unfortunately for SEC teams, Auburn is better than they are lucky, but more importantly, they're faster and more physical on defense than nearly every team in the nation.

Seriously? How can you immediately follow statement A with statement B and not see the glaring bias?

He fails to mention that if we "didn't get lucky" and :usc: caught that pass in the endzone they would only tie, leading to an overtime in which we most likely would have won (we were ahead by 7), yet if :sc: hadn't "displayed so much talent by stopping that last second TD" they would have lost that game (they were ahead by 6).

USC will lose to Oregon and Cal! No one will remember them by seasons end.

Here is his explanation for his comments:

Not meant as a conflict of interest. In fact, they had nothing to do

with one another, but Auburn fans have thought that it was meant as a

knock against them. I didn't intend for it to be that way at all. I

could easily have switched the two and said the same thing. What I was

going for in each was that each team almost got knocked off in a close

game, in other words a Michigan or a Florida shouldn't be above either

one of them. What I said about Auburn after that to me was key - they

might have been lucky because of a dropped ball, but they're a lot better

than that. That was my point - the difference in two and three is big,

but I didn't see it as this at this point.

Just curious. Where is this from?

And I still don't really understand what he means by
