Yeah, when soldiers are killed it should be reported.

Yet very much so, the number is not just stated, " now surpasses 9/11 deaths." I'd expect the numbers to be used again as a "end of 2006" piece.

Then, just a matter of time before it goes over 3,000. Then it'll be "3,000 troops have died since the Iraq invasion in 03."

Either newspapers and newscasts think we're ADD or they've become obsessive.

With today's mentality toward war in general, I wonder how long we would have lasted during WW2? Plus, we have to fight the politically correct way too? How are we to fight an effective war with lawyers and human rights activists challenging our every move? Yet, everyone else who is fighting us is not held to the same standards. Are we ok with having thousands upon thousands of people who would kill us, behead us in a heartbeat just soley because we're 1) American 2) not Muslim? What if we had 24 hour news channels from the beginning of WW2? What if we had the nightly newscast live from whichever location?

I'm not talking reasons for going or not going to Iraq. It seems the US wants to leave because things aren't going very well.

Then, the numerous end all, be all reports of no WMD. I say it like that because it seemed that several stories were presneted that there was no WMD in Iraq. Then, the non-partisan group had a report. Let's do the no WMD report all over again as if it were the best report to date, when in fact it seemed it was nothing new.

This is sorta off topic, but I'll still state it here.

In my opinion, not just on war, but in general, we've gotten soft. Yet, all the while, we're the most desensitized generation. Meaning we have all of this violence and sexuality, ect put in our face. It's harder and harder to shock people anymore. Yet, heaven forbid a kindergardener hugs his or her classmate.

Somewhere along the line some think we can have it both ways. We can have our cake and eat it too. And seriously, apparently we are. Just look at us?! Hey, who knows, maybe it'll save Social Security.
