Recruiting Rankings = No Big Deal

Sure we're ranked 7th and 8th and whatever in the polls but it doesn't matter. Just like Bama being ranked 10th, 19th and whatever doesn't matter. What matters is how these kids develop into men over the next two years. College life is very different from high school life. Classes are spread out over the week; the entire football team isn't schedule to work out together at the same time (it's based on cooperating with each kid's class schedule; there are many more attractive females to talk to; and the talent level becomes a lot more balanced. Just because a kid mastered the high school level of play does not mean he can do the same in college.

Also, we know that the rankings during the season are skewed towards benefitting certain teams, why wouldn't the recruiting rankings be the same? If Joe McKnight had committed to Bama or LSU, do you think ESPN News would have reported on it several different times throughout the day? Would it still be on ESPN's ticker this morning? Probably not, but USC was the kid's choice, which seems to be the school of choice for many people in the media.

Well, the thing that is heartening is that Tubs has done so much with lesser recruiting classes. Not just made great football players, but made fine young men, too. With a class this highly-touted, what do you think he can do with it?

I think when you are ranked in the top 15 for several years in a row like Auburn has it means that you have your program going in the right direction with a lot of talent. Top 10 recruiting classes are great, NO big deal, its a big deal that Auburn is loaded with players WDE! Finish in the top 10 in football and recruiting Ill take that every year!

Ditto.....This years class was the highest ranking since the Ben Obomanu, Devin A. class....and we all saw how that class didn't matter <_<
