we have an office football game grid 10x10.

$5 a square with a payout of $55 a quarter.

Is dude making a little too much for running this or do you think it is worth his trouble?

It all depends on the format of the board.

If it is a one game board, ex: AU vs KY, then yes he is keeping way too much.  The payout should be $125 per quarter.  I wouldn't mind him keeping $5 per quarter or possibly $10 depending on how difficult it is to collect money.

If it is a two game board, ex: AU vs KY and UAT vs USC on the same board, then $55 per quarter per game is more legit.  Him keeping $15 per quarter is probably still a little much but it does make more sense.

The guy is robbing you. The board I was on this past weekend was a 10 x 10 and the guy was only going to charge $50 "admin fee".

This guy is getting $280? That's more than the payout to the winners!

100 squares @ $5 a pop = $500 - 220 (payout) = "admin fee" of $280

I'd tell him where to shove it the next time he asks to play.
