Rhodes leads things off for Auburn in the 5th. I believe she's the only starter still in the game. She is 4-4 today I believe. 2 singles and 2 home runs.

Just read that last nights 21-0 win set an Auburn record for margin of victory vs. and SEC opponent. Well, that record lasted 20 hours as we broke it today winning 23-0

Thank goodness for the run rule...

Crazy thing is there was only one starter in the game at the end. We pinch hitted for all starters in the 4th and 5th innings and the pinch hitters were getting on base. There isn't much of anything you can do in that situation. The run rule is a very good thing for college softball. Through 3 games this week (one wednesday), Auburn has hit 10 home runs. We are up over 60 for the season.

Absolutely amazing what these young ladies are accomplishing.

Softball is like several women's sports....a few "haves" and lots of "have nots"....and quite a big difference between the categories.

AU in the "haves" in softball and among the "have nots" in basketball.

The girls basketball made the NCAA this year. That's more "have" than "have not" IMO. They are not where we would like them to be in the SEC and maybe that is what you were referring to. Or were you talking about the men?

The "haves" are Baylor,UcConn,USC.and a few others...they are light years better than AU and most other teams.

Ok. I see what you are referring to now. You are right. Those are definitely in a league of their own, but they are so far separated that it seems their are really 3 divisions: wants, haves, and have nots. Either way I think we all would like the Auburn teams to continue to improve across the board. The women have shown more encouragement than the men as of late and have been a nice morale booster when the men's 3 major teams have not been getting the results we hope for.
