GalensGhost 0
Cecil Hurt is an assclown. If you read this pile of excrement carefully, what he's saying is that at Alabama, football is way more important than it is at Auburn, equestrian national championships are a joke, and that Saban has the Tahd so back that they'll soon have to boost the stadium to 120-130K. Idiot.

Idiot. Perfect example of someone (Galen) letting their bias get in the way when reading the article. He didn't slam AU's decision, nor did he laud Alabama's. He even went so far as to say that maybe neither was the "winning" move...rather each did what was best for their situation.
AUesquire 1
In Auburn's case, I don't think the structure itself was a candidate for any "Remodeling" that would have made a significant difference. I also think Auburn didn't have a choice if they wanted to try and say with a straight face, that they wanted the roundball program to go forward. I've also never looked at this as any kind of facitilities competition, so to speak, with Alabama. This is a school at a major D-1 conference that's been running in quicksand for years and years with regard to the basketball program. There are no guarantees that this will vault them into a consistent player on the national level. But there is one guarantee. If they didn't do something, Auburn would continue to play in front of 2500 fans and look at the NIT as a realistic goal every year.

And a horrible writer. agreed, Jacobs said it was the goal of Auburn to invest in the wisest and most beneficial way for Auburn, not uat or some hack writer or radio person. The goal is not to have the biggest but the best facilities in the nation. Auburn is well on it's way to doing just that. In a few yeras uat will be discussing replacement of of what soon will be one of the worst bball arenas in the SEC.
