I realize that the internet crowd added welp to its jargon a number of years ago, but until your post above I don’t think fratness was ever added. The Grant of Rights re: TV money does not expire until 2036. Under that, FSU would get no TV money for its home games if they left the ACC. Even if FSU’s lawyers found a way to break that contract, you can bet that would be litigated.

All ACC member institutions have agreed to a Grant of Rights for TV rights. Here is a short recap of what this means. Not only does this hit FSU’s financial picture, but would also affect a conference if FSU were to bolt to that conference. I suspect this would be untenable to the SEC. I have no doubt that FSU has had its lawyers studying this, looking for an out.
