  1. How are their passing stats less? They throw for over 320 yards per game with a total of 7 TD's and 1 int.
  2. This needed to be said. What happens to other teams has no impact on our performance and should not make us feel better about our performance.
  3. Pretty generous grades. With 2 picks and extremely poor 1st half play would give the QB a C grade. I think the DL was more B to B+. Not sure anyone deserved an A
  4. What exactly has he done to improve that? His recruiting of lineman last year was poor and this year looks worse. We look like we are down to 3rd and 4th choices. When it is this late in the recruiting cycle and we are just now making offers to some kids means we are far down our list. And his public strategy is “ just watch”.
  5. For most teams we face, a east/west running game will not fare very well.
  6. Absolutely. Last year ACC champion Pittsburgh was ranked between 16 and 18 at the end of the season.
  7. Can I get some of that pork on "loan" also? Prices are high. 😁I know, auto correct.
  8. I went back and forth between her and Linda Rondstadt
  9. Everyone has opinion on this and here is mine. No conspiracy, just that none of the candidates have performed to the level of winning SEC football as of yet. While some may be doing better than others, the coaches are waiting as long as they can to see if any of the candidates can take those next steps to SEC level QB.
  10. I was responding to the poster who was using shoulda, woulda, coulda logic to say we were on the verge of a very good season if certain things went our way; player did not fall down, official did not call a penalty, or a coach called a bad play. If you use that logic to justify almost wins, you have to use it to justify almost losses.
  11. I understand that, but if you want to look at the whole season, you have to include the fact we should have lost to GA State.
  12. Agreed. I doubt these were any head coaches either. More than likely some way down the chain assistant they may not even be an on the field coach.
  13. So you are insinuating that I did not play the game. I did but only at the high school level. I do remember that we always thought we would win our games (which we should think that but did not win them all). We always thought our scheme was getting better. Sometimes it did and sometimes it did not. My point is, we were always positive but in hindsight not objective. And we should not have been. Auburn's players should always be positive. They should not be objective. It is good to read the articles but I am not sure that you can call them objective views.
  14. I guess it is perspective. I did not see anything last year to indicate that a "better value set" was in place or that a "positive locker room" made a difference for this team. In fact, one could make the argument that down the stretch the demeanor/attitude of the team deteriorated. But granted a lot of those players are gone. Also you base a lot on something intangible. In other words something that can't be really defined or measured. You are "hoping" it is better. There is nothing wrong with that. I probably need to "hope" a little more myself. As a side note, it would be interesting to see the Myers/Briggs personality traits of the posters on here. I think it would reveal alot of how they post.
  15. Well of course players are going to be extremely positive and they need to be. I don't know if I would consider them an objective source though.
  16. I have somewhat gotten excited myself, but every year, this time of year, we get the sunshine pumping articles. Every one is bigger, faster and stronger. Every newcomer is standing out. Chemistry on the team is good. All QB's look sharp. This happened every year under Gus, Chiz, and Tubs and a lot of us fall for it just for our hopes to be dashed. Hopefully you are right, but I am little more in the wait and see mode.
  17. Then why didn't Neibur's article list the 30 or so recruits that we probably gave official written offers to on August 1st? Question for you then, do you think AU has provided this recruit a verbal offer before August 1st?
  18. This is not about verbal versus written offers. The inference from the article that AU has just now offered whether verbal or written. AU offers tons of kids before written offers are sent out. How do you think anyone has been committing for the past few months without a written offer?
  19. I think it is a great question. In reading the write up, he does not even mention Auburn and TN, UGA and Arky all seem to have been recruiting him for some time. It feels like we are somewhat late to the party. And I don't buy the staff being "deliberate" on who and when they offer.
  20. His money. He can do what he wants with it.
  21. That's putting it nicely. That may be the most depressing list you have ever put out.
  22. Spot on. The problem was not the Wing T, but the adaptation by Gus. You are correct. The Wing T has stood the test of time. It has and will be the basis for a lot of successful football.
  23. There is an old sports saying (and I am paraphrasing). You play the game in front of you. You never plan/strategize etc on the following games. If they are coaching for the 24 class, they will not be here to see it.
