  1. Interesting to see 2 replacement OL at top of list and our normal starters at the very bottom of the list
  2. Bird is correct. We did not. While effort and D was good, our offense especially the QB play is still awful. The inability to throw for 100 yds per game is staggering. I watch other games on TV and I just don’t understand it. I have not been to any games so for those that have, my question is are our receivers open? Can PT just not see them or are our receivers just that bad also? It was good to play the game close but expectations need to be tempered. The likely hood of a winning season and a bowl game is shaken at best. I see 2 more games we should win. A 6 and 6 season rests on us beating MSU.
  3. Here is my take on the QB's: We don't know if we can win 8 games or not with PT. He has experience at this level but the first two games makes one wonder if he can win 8. With RA, we have seem him play over the past year and nothing from the first two games of this year changes the thinking about him. It is highly unlikely we win 8 games with him. In fact I would project a losing record with him at QB. With HG, we have not really seen him play any amount of time. He could be the most talented but who knows. Highly unlikely we win 8 games with him, or winning season. While the coaching may have been lacking so far, talent at the QB position is one of the problems and maybe the biggest problem. Just my opinion.
  4. But why even ask the question. None of them have done anything to warrant the question. Hunter was a good back last year, but year one he fumbled a lot and had very average numbers against SEC teams. Alston had a few carries last year and the others are brand new to AU. They all had good games against a lower tier team. At this point it is a silly question to even being asked.
  5. Bo Jackson, Lionel James and a bevy of other backs. Bo Jackson, Brent Fullwood and another bevy of backs. Cadillac, Ronnie Brown, Tre Smith, Brandon Jacobs. I think these guys can be good but to make this kind of statement with AU's history of running backs makes no sense.
  6. Agreed. It's not like these kids go to bed at 10PM. Most don't get their night started until 9 or 10
  7. The Hunter situation has been talked about in the media for a while so no statement is fine. As for how Cal prepares for AU running game, IMO is no different on whether Hunter plays or not. They are more than likely looking at schemes, and personnel packages. While Hunter is a good back, I don't think he is the type that you scheme your defense around. Cal is probably more worried about the depth of AU running backs. I believe there should be some type statement about Wilky acknowledging that AU is aware and will respond in more detail when more is known.
  8. Completely agree. The looked awful. Completely unprepared.
  9. Zeek, you nailed the 4 IMO. I am very concerned about the Dline and Jones especially. Pad level always seemed to be high and to be as big as he was, he got pushed around a lot and never seemed to make much of a push himself. Inside run D could be our weak point.
  10. Trying to have discussion. All your reply is your opinion nothing factual. This is why I don’t come to this forum much because some wet behind the ears lawyer thinks he is so much smarter then everyone else’s.
  11. Going to disagree on some of this. A lot of Neil Young songs would be considered political, whether about war, environment, or politicians. He most definitely writing for a specific groups and audience as was Guthrie. Now as a musician and a catalogue of music I get it, this guy is no where near the level of Neil Young and probably will never be. But to me his targeting of an audience is no different for any of them. If it is pandering for one point of view, it is pandering for the other.
  12. Let me start by saying I don't usually read the political forum, much less post. Secondly, I am aware of the song but I have not listened to it. But I am not sure why there seems to be a concern that this is a political song. Woody Guthrie's whole life was protest/political songs. And Neil Young songs had deep political messages along multiple 60's musicians. The whole decade was protest songs. Many of those songs could be considered "pandering" to their audience. Isn't it just a matter of whether one agrees with the message or not?
  13. I know you are just passing on what you have read/heard but when I see this kind of stuff my initial reaction is that this guy should have 3 sacks every game and at least 10 tackles every game and then they don't.
  14. Seems like to me Dye feasted on GA recruits.
  15. I agree he is not a 4K guy, but what we have been subject to the last few years 60% + and those yards and TD would be nice. Compared to other schools that may be low ceiling, but compared to our recent history , I am with you, I will take it.
  16. Kind of interesting. Was he considering entering the transfer portal since that would have been his only option?
  17. Pretty good take. I believe he is a little bit more than low ceiling. He seems to be better with good talent around him. I HOPE we have improved our talent enough and that will help him be a better QB. As another poster said, there are some pretty good QB's in that Tier 5.
  18. Wow. Ran from the police, large amount’s of weed and weapons and gets off season suspension
  19. Correct. This is the only issue at the end of the day. Even if it comes down to he said/she said, this will be bad for Hunter.
  20. That sounds about right; back near Donahue. That would be close to the drill fields. Not far from Cary Hall?
  21. I actually thought it was more towards the drill fields and where Magnolia and Donahue meet. May be wrong on the location, but it was very small.
  22. The most likely scenario is that he was falling down the depth chart
  23. Forgot how stacked that defense was; Tracy Rocker, Andrey Bruce, Craig Ogletree, Ron Stallworth, Nate Hill, Kurt Crane, Shan Morris, Alvin Briggs to name a few. Serious accumulation of talent
  24. Especially vehicles and planes. What if one school applies the depreciation/cost of Citations ($7M to $10M) vs another school who utilizes a King Air ( $1M). While there is something to be taken from the article, this is not a direct spend vs direct spend comparison.
