  1. Full backstory is unclear. This was at a 7 on 7 football camp/tournament in Atlanta. TSP is one of the teams that was participating. Just read TSP claim Cam initiated a fight with one of the TSP coaches and then another jumped in. That would put a different spin on it. Others have said he was breaking up a fight. Who knows.
  2. Cam gets sucker punched and jumped and then casually tosses guys around. Didn’t throw a punch back. They couldn’t even knock his hat off. What were these guys thinking?
  3. It's interesting that people die from drinking too much, but alcohol is more socially acceptable than weed. You won't die from a marijuana overdose. But you will sure as hell think you are dying haha
  4. I did offer, because I like you man. Glad to hear you're in good hands. Thanks for the kinds words back at me. DM me if you need anything.
  5. Fifty, you're a real one and one of a kind. You got this. When you're feeling low, remember it's temporary. Maybe even pop a gummy, if you're into that sort of thing. Then get back here and post articles for a few more decades.
  6. Now that NSD is over, here are the 247 Composite Rankings. I guess these are final? AU finished 10th. https://247sports.com/Season/2024-Football/CompositeTeamRankings/
  7. I like having some young, hungry on-field coaches that can relate to players and recruit. Sounds like Vontrell could end up as a great coach. My concern is this is probably the second most important position in football and we are thin at the position. Vontrell is green as it gets and will have his hands full right away.
  8. I'll never complain about losing a coach to the same job in the NFL. That's what you want. Means you hired the right guy in the first place.
  9. Freeze has gone back and forth on the QB situation. In mid-December, he basically declared Thorne the starter for next season. After the bowl game, he said "it's wide open." Freeze had at least one transfer QB on campus in the last month or so. I think he wanted to upgrade the position but was also overly picky about it.
  10. Exactly, of course he did. Thorne had less than 100 yards passing in 5 games, including his last 2 after he supposedly improved. In two other games, he had 102 yards and 100 yards. That's almost impossible to do. Freeze tried to upgrade and it didn't work out for whatever reason. Of course he's going to say now that he's happy with the QB room. I don't blame him for that. What else could he say?
  11. Thanks, Barnacle. I knew you could provide a thoughtful analysis. There's a lot of room in between "he watched a kid die" and "why are we talking about this, kids are too soft these days." Anyone who cares about the team and the players should be interested in the facts here.
  12. Cliffs notes? Only if you feel like it, Barnacle.
  13. We've now reached the point of "it's a good move if Bama thought about doing it."
  14. Maybe. I gave my opinion on what I think happened, based on the available information. I've been wrong before. What I do know is some people on here will suddenly believe Durkin was the top choice, whether or not that is accurate. Not saying that's you but it's the way it works.
  15. I assume you mean Kiffin and not Kelly? Freeze wanted to hire Kiffin last year. He waited until Kiffin was bounced from the playoffs to make a DC hire. Durkin has been sitting there the entire time. I won't pretend to know anything for a fact like you are, but logic dictates Kiffin was the first choice.
  16. Dropping the news at 9:30 PM on Monday doesn't exactly scream "confidence" but it is what it is. Hopefully it works out.
  17. Whiffed on our top choice and settled for the guy with the questionable background. Stop me if you've heard this one before.
  18. Damn, you're right. Also, Sarkisian's first full class at TX was #3. And Venables at OK was #5. Maybe they don't count as SEC coaches until the season starts? This is a very bad graphic.
  19. "He has a plan and is working it perfectly."
  20. I'm not sure Kiffin is worth the wait at this point, especially if his heart is not in recruiting. I'd still take him over Durkin though. The former Liberty DC does seem like a smart choice.
  21. I'm surprised Arnett hasn't landed a job. Maybe we wants a break. But I'd take him over Kiffin or Durkin. We have the recruiters. Give me the X's and O's guy.
  22. Beat me to it. Ryan Day is not SEC. But Kirby is a strange oversight.
  23. Is this even true? What am I missing? https://247sports.com/college/georgia/longformarticle/georgia-football-kirby-smart-first-recruiting-class-coming-of-age-132808947/#:~:text=The 2017 recruiting class was, success on paper%2C ranking No. "The 2017 recruiting class was Kirby Smart's first full cycle as the head coach at Georgia. It was his first as a head coach in general. It was a tremendous success on paper, ranking No. 3 in the nation per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite team rankings"
  24. RW was my favorite as well but who wouldn't be happy with our WR class. Might work out best in the long run if we use the NIL money on other positions of greater need. Either way, I'm glad RW re-classified so we don't waste time recruiting him for another year.
