  1. Your plan for education reformation is less students, less teachers, and more standardized testing?
  2. I don't have a grand thesis statement for this thread. I saw a discussion and thought I'd chime in. You know, to discuss AU football on an AU football discussion board. I did that a couple days ago. You're right, it wasn't hard.
  3. Bo has the second most passing attempts of any AU QB ever. That's why he's the 3rd all time leading passer. He played a bunch of snaps during the modern era where we sling it around. He just wasn't very good at AU. He was defended on this forum disproportionately to his contributions. He made a very smart decision to transfer to a team with the perfect system for him, and he played extremely well there. Good for him and wish him the best of luck.
  4. I wasn't clear, but my point was a successful coach needs to recruit guys to stay. When it's in the team and player's best interest. Next season's team would look a lot better with Harris, James, Pritchett, Simpson, Harris, and Rogers. And, arguably, those guys would have been better off with another year at Auburn. Recruiting these guys to stay is huge.
  5. Even with the portal on top of HS recruiting, retaining players for their post-draft eligible years, when it benefits the team AND the player, is an incredibly important part of recruiting.
  6. This is exactly right. The fact is he didn't play very well at Auburn and if you pointed that out there was a large group that just couldn't take it. Seth Williams bailed out Bo over and over again and was treated much worse by this forum.
  7. I'll take my medicine. When Bo left Auburn, I would have bet a million dollars he'd never go in the first round of the draft. I didn't like his play at Auburn at all. Good for him. Wish him the best of luck.
  8. I agree the receivers were bad, but I also agree with Cole's assessment of Thorne. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.
  9. Thorne is not taking this team to the playoffs. But we could maybe get to 8 wins now. Win the bowl game for once and I'd be happy with a 9-4 finish.
  10. Freeze has landed solid contributors but not big fish from the portal. So I'm going to guess "no" and hope that I'm wrong.
  11. Like the majority of our transfers out, Wes is gone because AU didn't want him anymore. He is no longer useful, so he is benched and/or asked to leave. That's fine, it's the only way to win games. But then you can't expect someone like Hood to be loyal. AU wanted Hood to stay. He HAS progressed and knows where he stands, which is a good spot. He must be leaving for what he sees as a better opportunity, whether due to money, family, personal reasons, who knows. I don't love any of it but I don't fault the players more than the coaching staff.
  12. Don't think I've seen on here that Wesley Steiner is also entering the portal. He's the exact opposite of what we all are complaining about. Good kid, hard worker. Playing time diminishing. Freshman passing him by. There is no loyalty on either side. I get if you don't like that. Just remember it goes both ways.
  13. Everything I've seen is he was likely the #3 CB, expected to play a lot this season. Young guy getting good reviews from coaches. So this one is a little odd to me.
  14. Colton Hood enters the transfer portal. This one stings.
  15. Looking positive for Edge Keyron Crawford, DL Philip Blidi (no longer visiting OK), and NT Isaiah Raikes (who transferred to USC four months ago!?). Rumors of a transfer out by a rising player on D who would play a lot this season.
  16. I think that's because the HC is not properly evaluating/valuing the position and/or he is simply failing to recruit a replacement. Trust me, I'm on the same page as you with Thorne.
  17. I find it hard to believe AU is not willing to pay for a QB, of all positions to try to save money. Whatever the reason, our top 3 QB targets and our top RB target have all committed elsewhere. Need to reset and pick up the momentum on the O side.
  18. That's what you got from this interview? Cam brought a national championship to Auburn. He came back and graduated while he was in the NFL. He's allowed to tell his story, which says nothing bad about Auburn.
  19. Love this commit. The best thing Freeze has done is improve the OL.
  20. I don't know about the fans, but the staff sure as hell wanted him. I don't disagree that we can do without him.
  21. Exactly how I feel, word for word. We may still get Henderson but we can live without him anyway. Only thing that bothers me is the amount of time spent recruiting, as he was a top target. QB is becoming a concern. I was getting excited about Longstreet. Now it looks like we will miss on our top 3 targets.
