The coming BIG disruption in college sports
passthebiscuits replied to AURex's topic in AU Football Forum
We are quickly approaching a shared revenue model, which in my opinion is the ONLY way this current situation works. College sports as we knew it are sadly gone imo. -
I don’t think so. Maybe he can be honored in some other way…ring of honor or something. also, side note, Aubie is getting a statue.

Anyone see Hugh’s greatest accomplishment?
passthebiscuits replied to keesler's topic in AU Football Forum
Maybe they mean it’s the highest among first year active coaches in the sec…could that be true? lol…the mental gymnastics… -
1) offensive rebounding 2) hit open shots 3) stop the ball first 4) coaching in the final 2 minutes 5) stop missing layups 6) who’s gonna take the shot that matters…end a run…win the game

They are working the press release.

Shoulda called Bubbles Party Company. They are located in Auburn and do all the cool photos/backdrops/balloons. If you ever visit during the football season or during bid week for the sororities, their balloons are epic! Just a shout out. The owners are friends of ours! 😉

The ONLY thing Bo did wrong was not discussing the reasons why he was leaving. He could have said a number of things, i have a major difference of opinion with the head coach i dont feel supported by the head coach i think my opportunity to make it to the league is in a different offense with a different offensive line, etc. instead, by staying mute on the subject, he invited a lot of criticism. Looking back on it now, no one blames him, but at the time it seemed sort of petulant and corrosive to the Auburn family. glad to see him come back with open arms. He still has a lot of family and friends here.

Absolutely. They just did not gel.

Booom! Let’s go. It’s making sense now.

Man it’s the best soap opera in the world! How could you not love this?
-
We don’t know specifics. I think if we are patient we will either hear about it or it’s none of our business.
-
I know that there’s something and it’s icky. I know that nobody wants to talk about it, and the one person who knows ain’t talking about it. So it likely isn’t my business. I think this was the way for caddy to save face. There will be some more. it’s going to be ok. I think we come out of this stronger. We’ve got to keep pulling in the same direction.

Both. Golf is the man. There’s nothing to have a meltdown over, but also be prepared for a little turbulence.

Here’s where ya hold on to your butt

Auburn fans get a little wonky when there’s too much change. We may see some movement in coaches/players/staff etc.

Hold on to your butts for the next few hours/day

Freeze dismisses OC Philip Montgomery

Pat Nix taught me for a quarter at Opelika high when he was going through his internship for teaching…world history. He taught me about NAFTA. Now that’s some trivia… -

Not bird but off the top of my head…$$$$$, fame, glory… also not having to work with Kiffin (ask our OL coach) also also, when i first heard this, i thought we were talking about Pat Nix. #thatwouldbeweird -
Maybe make CHF the GM/Recruiting head, with TR and ZE and MD recruiting coordinators, and hire some better on-the-field coaches?

Not 100% sure about what fell through with Mario. He got a little cold feet about being in the sec is what was told to me through an agent.

Hank Brown's 2 drives resulted in more passing yards than 7 of 13 Thorne's starts. thoughts? -
Would bowls (and CFB in general) be more fun if...
passthebiscuits replied to AUwent's topic in AU Football Forum
I think the bowls should have to fork up money to the players to participate and perhaps give more money to the winning team. This would incentivize some players to play the games. alas, I’m just not sure that any of this in its current form is sustainable. I realize that it’s not your question, but instead of an A day game, I’d be in favor of a preseason game against a team we never see…like Notre Dame - Auburn, etc. The outcome wouldn’t count, but it could sell tickets, give the players a chance to manage a game like a true preseason game and would be a heck of a lot more interesting.- 32 replies

No great point actually, Viper. When you think about it, just about everyone had some flaws. I think CHF’s visibility as a holy-seeking man made his transgressions the more difficult. You’re exactly right. Side note, Mario C was almost a done deal before Harsin, and Kiffin before CHF.
