NIL is out of control. There is no transparency and little accountability. This has to be reigned in on a federal legislative level. There is a TON of money to be made in college football, and the colleges themselves had it pretty darn good for lots of years given the lack of a minor league football system. I don’t blame him for leaving or question why. He ultimately did the best thing he could do for his career. however…he (and his dad) were a little petulant about how they left instead of standing up for Auburn and just being super transparent and saying, no for real, this guy sucks, we need to look hard at this. That’s the only thing that riled me up at the time. Would have preferred him standing tall and moving Auburn through a hard time instead of how it went down. But …with time comes perspective. He’s still an Auburn dude. and if I weren’t an Auburn dude, I’d be an Oregon dude.

Usually first day is more formal (team exercises) than the individual coaches kind of take over. have a funny Harsin story from last Big Cat…the players dunked a tub of cold water on his head. He turned beat red and looked like he was going to murder the entire room…then he realized that he had no choice but to roll with it, so he tried to laugh it off. But for a solid 30 seconds there was complete silence as we tried to see how he was going to react.

They actually do a few games and team-building things. Dinner. Lots of chatting. Show them some videos.
