  1. I three/four words of Jethro Tull, taterman was a "Bungle in the Jungle"
  2. I agree. Would much rather have them on the schedule other than Tex or Okie., or even A&M for that matter.
  3. And killoff that aflac duck too, and handcuff/ban them two glory, attention seeking cockroach coaches while their at it.
  4. They had some of the best catfish and hushpuppies back in the day also. Haven't eaten there in several years though.
  5. Yep, all but 18 years in Lauderdale county in the Anderson area, Bethel community. Back in Colbert now for the last 26 years about a mile from where I was raised.
  6. Yep. And it for sure ain't pronounced like that ignorant late-night host COLDBEAR(Colbert). What a jerk.
  7. Different era way back then Cole I reckon. I have 2 grandchildren that graduated from Colbert County and were in the band. Never messed around Sheffield much. Had more trouble in Tuscumbia than anywhere else because those goobers at Deshler thought they were so much better than us ole country boys at the Heights. Guess they couldn't stand the fact that we a Tuscumbia address too...LOL!
  8. Russellville probably had the nicest Stadium and best field to play on back then. It was like a small collage stadium, and still is today. Several of us was there in 68 i believe that's the year that Russellville had that big game with Muscle Shoals and we had to park a 1/2 mile from the stadium. Seems like that most of the Tri-Cities was there that night...LOL!
  9. Colbert Heights. I went through spring training at Cherokee but the county installed zoning and had to attend The Heights. Always wanted to play ball for Coach Mills. And the stadium hasn't changed much since then Golf. They have new bleachers and scoreboard, thats about it. I have a granddaughter that's a cheerleader there now.
  10. They were rough back in the day. Gargis was a year behind me. Leighton and Cherokee were the 2 toughest teams that we played each year. We never beat Leighton or Cherokee. We never played Russellville.
  11. Well, to be fair Golf, Mr. Baily did feed us and supply cokes/Pepsi's. And dadgum, y'all had a conveyor!? You had it made! was all y'all in some kind of a hay hauling union we didn't know about back then....LOL! Played some basketball at Littleville back in the day. That was way before they shut down all the Jr. high schools in the county. And i've been to the Kings drive-in many, many times. And got a brother-in-law that still lives in Littleville. Is it still in the family?
  12. We scored 16 points on them at Leighton one Friday and still got beat, and had to fight our way out of the end of the stadium to the locker rooms. Things sure have changed a lot in the last 55-50 years.
  13. Phil Gargis no doubt had to be one of the meanest and toughest. Didn't want to be caught in Leighton Al. after dark, especially if you didn't have on a letterman jacket with that big gold "C" on it.
  14. Golf, that was pretty good dough for hay hauling back then. We hauled for a Mr. Bailey and a few others back then and he only paid .50 cents an hour! Hauled a many a bale of hay for that old man up around Littleville, Spring Valley, and New Bethel over a 3 year period. I'd like to have got in on some of that dollar an hour hauling...LOL!
  15. The 2.25% the attorney wants out of the deal(on previous page posted by JerryAU). Who pays it? Kid/Dad don't want to. So, NIL collective don't want to. UF shouldn't have too. If someone is paying me 13 mil and I've got an attorney to seal the deal, I'll gladly pay 2.25% to MY attorney and smile all the way to the bank with the rest. Greed on the Dad/kids part.
  16. The kid and his dad don't look too good either. A lot of greed involved on their part. If I were AD or HC, I wouldn't touch this kid with a 20 foot pole. Let him go back to Cali and see what other offers he gets.
  17. Not Baptist Mikey. TCU is affiliated with the Christian Church(Disciples of Christ).
  18. Buffalo New Mexico State UTSA USC TCU Ohio Troy Georgia Tulane Boise State Michigan Clemson 56
  19. Arkansas Florida Alabama Georgia Clemson Kentucky LSU Tennessee Ole Miss Baylor Kansas State Washington North Carolina Cincinnati Ohio State Oregon USC 45
  20. Well, he does mention Freeze as being a front runner, or at the forefront too for what it's worth.
  21. Oh no, the "Lane Plane" is more likely to crash and burn with more casualties than the train is to derail, when it does, and I don't want to even mention "The Bus" it's already left the station...LOL!
  22. I think that the "Lane Train" as some call it will not be a bit better than the "Gus Bus." I never got a ticket for "The Bus" and believe that "The Train" will not be any better, but about the same. That's just my opinion.
