If Alabama voters pass the gambling legislation this fall, that should help the partial scholarship sports. I don't see it affecting NIL or the full scholarship sports very much.

I think if she had been given the go ahead while approaching 1st from the plate and makes a reasonable slide she is safe at 2nd. But that's speculation. What I do think happened is she got no help at all then that coach called her back way too late. The runner should have a go/no go sign from the 1st base coach long before she gets to 1st base. That's standard high school/rec league stuff.

Bammer 2, AU 0, 11 innings. If we need a scapegoat I nominate whoever was coaching 1st base for Auburn in the bottom of the 7th. We should have had a leadoff double and instead we get the batter out at 1st. No way this one was on the runner.

I'm sure Alta Vista is a fine neighborhood but San Diego California just isn't my style.

If it came down to butting heads with Oklahoma over NIL money, we lose in any case. They have oil wells. Those who insisted that AU "would be ok" weren't thinking of oil wells and so forth. This is a battle we are doomed to lose from the get-go. Well have to find another way. Now, how much NIL money did Broome get? Chaney? Maddie Penta? How does anybody know this other than the board? These payments are not a matter of public record.

The "Official Site of Auburn Athletics" has been down since yesterday. Something about security agreement expired. Anybody know anything about this? It's been my go to place for box scores, schedules and so forth for years. All tidbits of information, wild guesses or even knowledgeable replies appreciated.

I saw that, but not sure if it tells us anything.

AU 4, Bammer 3. Had 'em 4-0 going into the top of the 7th and had to hang on. Once again, another hit here or there and we are up several more runs. Bunting is fine if you have good hitters coming up behind the bunter. Having you best stick bunt with two runners on doesn't make any sense to me.

Let me get this straight: The schools are to pay previous athletes for what NIL money they would have received had the NIL been in place when they played? How much will we owe Pat Sullivan's heirs? Bo Jackson? Cam Newton? Who will decide what a former athlete would have been worth in NIL dollars? This whole thing seems preposterous, but then there are preposterous things happening every day on this scale and larger. These are sad times for college athletics. We are witnessing first hand the Law of Unintended Consequences.

Well then, will Aden Holloway have to sit a year at bammer? If not, why not?

Were I a coach at a G-5 school I think I'd look for another job opportunity. Imagine beating the bushes and finding a diamond in the rough only to have the rich boys come in and plunder your team. That would be the pits.

I'll miss seeing Stackhouse and his cool collection of suits on the sidelines.

Another step towards Who Gives a Crap.

Sad but true.

I saw that team play several times. A's owner Charles O. Finley was from B'Ham and he loaded that team up with the best players the organization had. Many of the regulars on the Oakland A's Major league championship teams of 1972-'73-'74 passed through B'Ham on their way up.

This season is on Dean and it started way before February. It started last fall when he couldn't keep his team together. The Big Bopper Bri Ellis is hitting for a high average and had 14 homers at Arky the last time I looked. Jessi Blane was hitting 350 and had 6 homers at Moo State. Denver Bryant was at 300 batting average with something like ten doubles at So. Carolina. At the moment I'm forgetting someone else, a former AU starter who is succeeding elsewhere. Put those four back in the lineup with our pitching and we're a good team. Dean had to GO!

Women's prison. He won't last a week.

This team is simply snake bit. Yes, it happens. Some seasons there are teams with good personnel and coaching that just cant find the wins. Other seasons teams with a not so great lineup end up at or near the top. It's not a usual occurrence but if you hang around baseball long enough you'll see both sides of it. I just wish it wasn't happening to AU this year.
