  1. Had to be at the top of issues requiring the attention of the House…
  2. Is there no effort in Washington to reform unfettered campaign contributions? Seems a good place to start for more ethical practices and government….
  3. Indeed, there are so many ox that would be gored I look for little substantial change. Entities like Mark Cuban’s Cost Plus Drugs keep the flicker of hope alive.
  4. There is little about the structure of healthcare billing and insurance coverage that is not a mess. Then layer in the uninsured who are billed at 100% of book price…
  5. Terry Beasley??🤷‍♂️
  6. While being all in with CHF, based upon his history, I’m baffled that this years team is worse than the group/effort Caddy led at the end of last season. Poor fundamentals, poor execution, personal indecision, lack of consistency….especially frustrating with the rare glimpse of stellar play. I turn the game on and watch with little emotion or enthusiasm because I simply can’t allow myself to have any excitement for the product on the field. Fingers crossed on recruiting and some key staff upgrades.
  7. Too much on the job training needed for some of these folks. Many voters are a highly ignorant lot with a short attention span… critical to election in Alabama (and too many states): R after the candidates name, “I’m a Christian, a lifelong member of the NRA, (card issued immediately upon exit of the womb),….etc”. Great. Tells the voter nothing about the knowledge and qualifications of the candidate. Tub’s knowledge of the military doesn’t extend much past the pointy end of the F-18 is the front. While I lean left Katie Britt is Tubs superior in every way.
  8. Folks in Florida still awaiting money for hurricane damaged homes would agree with more industry regulation.
  9. Fascinating perspectives….while mine is admittedly left leaning, it is interesting that none of us…especially the defenders sat on a grand jury issuing an indictment. There was certainly evidence of a magnitude that a jury voted to indict. Whether a trial jury votes to convict is another matter. Time will tell. However, Trump has violated one of my mommas key principles…don’t look like you’ve done something wrong.
  10. For clarification, I’m wondering if that is a defense of Tubs…his knowledge of football is better than his knowledge of government and governing.
  11. https://www.al.com/news/2023/07/whitmire-tommy-tuberville-is-everybodys-problem.html Good opinion piece. Amazing the people of Alabama would elect a washed up football coach…..well…no it’s not….after all it’s still Alabama.
  12. Among the first things compromised with aging is balance and flexibility….both critical in recovering from an unexpected stumble. Does not necessarily mean decreased mental capacity. I know an 80 year old retired professor who loves his bourbon. Doubt many of you could beat his drunk ass in chess.
  13. Social Security does cover people beyond those who have directly paid into it. However, if you cut them do not expect a dollar for dollar savings. These people need help and will be a financial burden in some form or fashion regardless. Perhaps more to the point, there are proposals to increase the minimum ages to access Social Security. In my opinion, this is a non-starter for one reason…..age discrimination. I chose the path of corporate America for a career. Did pretty well…became an officer in a couple of places…stock options…annual bonuses…the whole bit. Was also caught up in downsizing and acquisition job elimination a couple of times. Now in my early 70’s there is no way in hell a major corporation will hire me to a 6 figure job I’m accustom too. Far cheaper to hire two recent grads and try to teach them what I know. So, no….there are far too many people less fortunate than I who depend upon SS. Pushing minimum age out has far too many unintended consequences
  14. Nope….did not say that. If there was wrong doing it should be substantiated and prosecuted. The wheels of Justice turn slowly. Many from the previous administration will experience this as the trail of Saudi money is followed.
  15. WSJ wants me to pay to read this….since it’s owned by the Murdoch’s, I’ll pass. Have no doubt they shape editorial content.
  16. Tubs spent years jerking off Auburn from duck blind for that years fat, usually unearned, mid contract pay increase. He’s an obsessive self promoter. My fear is that he is now trying to position himself as an alternative in 2024 to Trump and Desantis. Only the Auburn faithful will remember who this guy really is.
  17. Excellent piece, and an inspiring story. I’m sure he has used his wealth and standing to muscle up on some issues at Auburn…who is to say we would not do the same? Gave me a different perspective as well…WDE.
  18. Indeed…My poorly made point was without some yahoo intent upon inflicting evil with a gun, there would be significantly less need to have a gun for protection.
  19. That sums it up….you need a gun to protect yourself from an idiot with a gun. 🤔
  20. LOL…my next door neighbor bought a new truck. When he got it home he was surprised it would not fit in the garage. He named it …”The Compensator”!
  21. Perhaps we should consider what works and what does not work. The 2nd Amendment works in that the right to own and carry a gun is for damn sure not abridged. While written just as plainly, go ahead and cross out that “well regulated militia” part. No one pays that any mind. What is not working is wanton mass murder on an almost daily basis. Sadly for those believing the 2nd Amendment is carved in stone…to often it is a headstone…of a child murdered in school.
  22. What laws? It’s easier to get and use a gun than it is to obtain and operate a motor vehicle.
