  1. Lol me too, I’d be interested in what he says about this question.
  2. I agree with your posts. You’ve been beating the drum on this all year. Especially with the recruitment (or the lack of) of Mark Sears, and how strong guard play is more paramount than a great stable of big men, especially for the team like 2019 Auburn squad. I just thought that at the very least we’d be in Sweet Sixteen because this team’s just too talented to lose in the first weekend. If our guards played subpar defensively and made better choices offensively we’d win going away. But it is what it is. The big question is how we start planning for the next season knowing the same issues have plagued us for past few years. Portal or recruitment — just find playmakers at the guard position. Or even an alpha.
  3. This was a gigantic gut punch. I really thought this team was special. Winning the whole thing may be really difficult especially being placed in UConn’s region but any concerns and flaws we’ve had about this team evaporated when they won the SEC tournament. I thought that’s when they finally got things figured out and were peaking at a right time. The worst thing about this is all the weaknesses, flaws, and concerns we’ve had about this team really shone through. Almost everything was self-inflicted. The four straight turnovers in our four possessions were a killer, but I’d like to add one crucial defensive lapse by Donaldson in the possession after Denver Jones made a big 3 to push us up 68-58. Their point guard dribbled and took a step back. Donaldson didn’t even attempt to contest him at all. He made that 3 and tides shifted. There are many moments where we just needed one stop to break the game open, and we blew every opportunity to do so. Even with that, we still had a chance to take the lead or tie the game on the charity stripe but you could tell by the demeanor of these players that their composure was rattled by then. I’m proud of the crew of what they’ve accomplished this season but like any other teams that got surprisingly bounced in the tournament, it’s baffling to me that after 30+ games of playing together they went away from what worked the best for the team. You’d have thought after playing together for so long you start to figure what worked and what didn’t. Last year’s team I didn’t really have a lot of expectations and they folded about the right way against Houston. But this group was supposed to be special. Extremely shocking and deflating. Oh well. War Eagle!
  4. Of course there’s still tomorrow to go but this couldn’t have gone any better for this squad. Build conference by blowing out one of top SEC teams in South Carolina and then grind out a win against a physical crew in Miss State. That’s kind of team development and chemistry we needed for a final push in the postseason. War Eagle!!
  5. Treasure one of these nights we had today. Many teams that we detested lost today, and in an embarrassing fashion while we enjoyed a 31-point whopper today. To be clear, the tournament is going to be difficult but this is as special as it gets especially knowing our luck in our sports lately in the SEC. I'm enjoying the night a big time.
  6. This pretty much makes us a lock for the NCAA Tournament, if the last game wasn't enough to do so. Way to go! Year 3 we're finally starting to see results. Don't expect too much from the LSU game but I'm really looking forward to see how they do in the Big Dance!
  7. The defense ultimately did the job. If you could ask Bruce if we kept wildcats to 20 points below their average before the game he’ll be all over it. The gameplan was good. We had some great looks. But since we never had momentum or saw a lead, it really does spill over into the team. If we were up like 8 to start game, we’d have shot better. We rely on momentum.
  8. You could be right. But this is the same team that spanked some good teams. It’s just a matter of seizing momentum. If we can lead after the first five minutes of a game, it tells a lot about this team’s ability to feast on momentum.
  9. Exactly! The way this year’s team feeds on momentum, it seems increasingly likely that if we take a lead at any point in a game, it will show how we will fare in a game. Being up by a good margin, we should win. Being down by a serious margin and if we don’t sniff a lead at all, you could determine how we will do in a game.
  10. We always had a smaller margin of error given our schedule for SEC. We needed to win our tough games and to have some breaks go our way. We didn’t capitalize on some games and they did. It is what it is. But I’ll trade a regular season SEC championship if it meant we got a deeper run than Bama does.
  11. Not to mention the ncaa championship in basketball is probably the toughest thing to win in collegiate sports due to its one-and-done elimination format. It’s the best format if you enjoy rooting for cinderellas but the toughest if you expect your team to win.
  12. SEC regular championship was always hard knowing our schedule compared to our fellow SEC teams, but this team has what it takes to go far. Who knows what can happen? These losses could be just what we need to come up with a formula that could fuel a deep run. We could be bounced early but we could go far. Let’s just enjoy the ride.
  13. If we could say this is just “one of these days” type of games, this is it. We literally shot in the worst home game of the season in 8 years. It’s truly one of these days. Just gotta learn from this and move on. These boys will be just fine
  14. It really boils down to the fact that we never led this even once at all. It can be a massive mental block if you never had a lead in this game at all. It’s really different when you had a lead at least once because it could be an influence where you know you’re able to take a lead on them. Even in the road Alabama game — we never took a lead in the second half so we had some moments where we were really close but never got over the hump. This was another example of it. These boys will be fine though.
  15. He went for 1/3 in the game although two incompletions could certainly almost be counted as an interception. I was hoping for a better passing attack, though.
  16. Completely divorced from reality. I'm just speechless anyone really can believe this sort of s***. I get surprised everyday.
  17. Jesus. For a moment there I thought you were trying to do a bad job of trolling. But you really do believe this. Just incredible.
  18. And the number is going to grow and grow the more Christian people become more hostile towards people who are different from them. LINK.
  19. On a personal anecdote, that's the exact same question I had for myself when I learned about other religions growing up. I can't wrap my head around the fact that if God and Jesus are loving, kind, and compassionate -- why would they banish people who have NEVER heard of Christianity to hell? I was horrified to think that this could be the case. As of a result, when I was a child, I said that I believed in God but it was out of fear that I was going to be punished for eternity. It didn't take until much later in my high school years that I realized that it's an extremely unhealthy way to approach religion. Terrible people were using religion as a channel to control and force people. If it's true that you have to be a Christian in order to go to Heaven and that all other religious people are banished for eternity, then I don't want to go to Heaven when I die. And that's when it dawned on me. Jesus is love. God and Jesus represent love and kindness.
  20. Trump's comment on "shooting someone on the 5th Avenue and won't lose any voters" was probably the most truest thing he ever said from his mouth. He's invincible with his base. And that's why DeSantis won't be a threat to Trump in this election cycle.
  21. Unfortunately this is going to be another fundraising opportunity for Trump as he dives into "deep state" narrative again. And his base will eat it up like ivermectin.
  22. In the bolded part, I think I’m starting to see the survivalism mentality that’s starting to grow in conservative circles. Harboring deep fears that the “big, bad government” will suddenly take over their lives. And then you see stuff like these stories: https://www.kansascity.com/news/local/crime/article274517706.html — Lester and Ralph Yarl — in the article it says Lester bought into conspiracies and disinformation to a point where he was scared and paranoid of everyone. When I think about it, it really does adds up. Fear, paranoia, and anxiety built up by years watching shows that’s designed to strike fear, anger, and anxiety has reached to a boiling point in some people. Now, the bigger question remains: are men of all ages too emotional to handle guns? Seems like it everyday.
  23. If we’re quick to pass anti-trans bills, abortion ban bills, why is this any different? Nothing wrong with doing away with the most extreme guns to see how it goes. If it helps stop another mass shooting then it’s worth it. And besides, we’re quick to strip rights of women, trans, and other minority groups but so quick to protect the armed population. Okay sure. You’re correct that the mass shooters have gotten younger and younger, however which age demographic is currently in the power? People who should have been retired a long time ago. Thoughts and prayers don’t work anymore, and that’s by design. Sharing well wishes and healing thoughts are just a crutch to avoid addressing the issue at hand when literally every country in the world have close to zero mass shootings and they all are quick to address when a mass shooting happens. I’m glad you and I agree on prioritizing mental health. However when you see stuff like this: Greg Abbott cuts 211 million dollars from mental health agency https://www.sacurrent.com/news/abbott-blames-mental-health-for-uvalde-shooting-after-cutting-211-million-from-mental-health-agency-29019967?media=AMP+HTML And this: https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/7780/text — passed 220-205, with just one Republican voting for the bill. All entire nays were from Republicans. It just doesn’t inspire confidence, you know what I mean? 👍
