  1. Looking forward to the Arky vs. USCe game that comes on next. Not sure i give either of these teams much chance against Tenn. State probably has a better shot...
  2. State up 47-41 in second half. I just turned the game on
  3. Give me a tired Arky team. We handled both without any trouble during the season. Something about that USCe team...they just keep on coming. I thought for sure they would fade after we blew them out but they kept on winning. We got in Arkys head last time we played them.
  4. I mean Tennessee is the safe bet. They have been the best and most consistent team all year. Now if they play each other in the finals I just may have to pick Kentucky but I’d be surprised if they make it. Not sure they can play that high level consistently. I hope AU can snag a couple wins. We’ve gone out quickly the last couple seasons. Need to shake that monkey
  5. Have to think the number of fans who can repeatedly give thousands of dollars to NIL funds each year are few and far between. I was expecting there to be a leveling out at some point and these million dollar deals players are getting will go away. I can see it for a handful like Manning who are household names before joining a school but most players don't move the needle like that.
  6. Can Auburn elevate their game to match the top level teams? Can a bunch of really good players collectively become a great team? Auburn did it in 2019 with a bunch of scrappy players. The teams are different in a lot of ways. That 2019 team was lead by its veteran guard play. While this team is lead by its veteran front court. Its stated repeatedly that teams win in March based on guard play so can the combo of Tre, Aden, Jones, and KD compete get AU to another final 4? Tall ask for our young PG but that is the challenge that is in front of them. Another key piece of that 2019 final 4 team was the emergence of Okeke as a first round NBA talent. Time at time down the stretch AU could go to Okeke when we needed a bucket. This year Auburn also has a talented player coming on strong at the end of the season. Can CBM be that difference maker down the stretch? Someone AU can go to when it desperately needs a basket. Another tall ask for a first year player who has been a journeyman so far during his college career. Lot of difference and similarities in that 2019 team and this one. I know AU is being overlooked right now. Everyone thinks we are a scrappy bunch with a low ceiling. I don't think many are giving us a chance to actually win the SEC tournament. And i think that plays right into Auburn's hands. Always at our best when people don't expect it. One thing i know for sure is that this AU team will compete and give their all and thats all I can really ask for as a fan. Give me a reason to believe and i'll believe. Let's finish this year off in style Auburn!
  7. I was really looking forward to watching this game based on the score but when i went to watch the replay....gross. Another game that was completed disjointed due to refs calling touchy fouls everywhere. I think a lot of the fouls were legitimate and all on KD were certainly correct. He has to be smarter and understand how the game is being called. Just not smart basketball on his part. But man....all the reviews and fouls. Even AU playing like world beaters couldn't hold my attention. They may be the second or 3rd game we've set records for foul shots this season
  8. Would make sense....very similar seasons. We have a little better overall record and they have played better OOC teams.
  9. Logically this makes sense. But in years past the tournament has had very little impact on seeding. Maybe this year would be different with all the teams bunched together but I doubt it.
  10. We are an interesting team for seeding this year. And really the whole top half of the SEC falls in that bucket of how do you place the teams? I mean Tenn, Kentucky, Bama, Scar, Florida and Auburn with all very similar records. If Tenn wins out they are no doubt the top SEC seed and likely get a 2 spot. But what if they lose 1 or 2 of their remaining games which are against Scar and Kentucky?? So many scenarios could still play out its hard to nail them all down. But if all the records come out similar i'd be hard pressed to seed any team other than Tenn and Kentucky higher than AU. We destroyed bama and Scar at home. Barely lost to Bama at their place. Played Tenn tough at their place. And then our 2 poor showings at Fl and then at home against Kentucky. But how you can say any of these teams are definitely better than the other when we've all beaten each other i have no idea. I also agree with people saying SEC tourney has next to 0 impact on seeding. It can get in you in the tourney if you win it but outside of that i don't think it impacts seeding very much at all. At least that is what history has shown us. We won the thing in 2019 i think and didn't move up at all and then got upset a couple years ago and that didn't make our seed fall much at all either. What i think is hurting our seeding is: 1. 6 SEC teams with similar records 2. Lack of signature high level wins away from home 3. Poor showing by our OOC opponents. Would have been nice for USC or Indiana or Virginia Tech to have good seasons. Unfortunately none of those wins look that impressive right now. Its been a great season and really fun to watch. Take care of business at home against uga on Saturday and we have some good momentum heading into postseason. Bet we are a team that not many people want to see in their bracket!
  11. Team with 0 wins but several close loses is super dangerous. They will be giving everything they have to get this win. AU will lose if we don’t also bring our A game
  12. Really hate he got hurt so close the end of his last season. Thanks for all you did while at Auburn Mr. Berman!!
  13. Tre for one definitely needs to be more assertive with his scoring. His percentages are too good for him to not be taking more shots. But at the same time its hard to push guards to be more assertive when the front court is playing so well and is so talented. But bottom line is we gotta get more scoring out of the 1 and 2 guard spots. Whether that is from KD, Tre, Aden, or Denver it doesn't matter to me, but we have to have an outside threat from these guys for us to be successful. As much as I love our front court players they are not at the level where they will consistently carry a team. Season is getting short now so time for these guys to find their groove is running out.
  14. Outside of the Cooper season we’ve been in the conversation for SEC title every year. Won the regular season title 2 years ago. Still have an outside shot this season at the title. So I guess the question for you and your brother are what are you expecting/wanting from AU each season? if the answer is SEC title, national championship, and no loses each year then that’s going to be tough to deliver. You might have to adjust to never being happy with the basketball team. Every team out there has bad loses on the resume. Even those ones with elite players like you called out. I think Pearl compiles the best team he can every season. We’ve had 1st round NBA talent every year for since chuma until this season. This year we have a deep team with a bunch of solid but not great players. I don’t think that means we won’t have 1st rounders again. That’s just what the team ended up like this year. I love watching our team play ball. It’s not always pretty but go find me a team that always looks great. Our guys play hard and we play a style of basketball that is fun to watch. And occasionally we play some pretty great basketball while we are at it. I think this team has over achieved if anything and I’m excited to see how they finish out the year. I think they can definitely go deeper than round 2. Will they?? Who the hell knows. Our final 4 team was lucky to win their first round game. Then went on a tear against some great blue blood teams.
  15. Well that was about as deflating of a loss as a team can have right there. Sure would have been nice to go into the bye feeling a bit better about things. But after taking a couple days to reflect on the game I don't think there is any reason to freak out. We knew this team could have terrible shooting nights, we actually had one of these poor shooting nights at home early in the season against Virginia Tech. We forget about it cause we won that game but in that one we shot 2-16 from 3pt land. In this instance Kentucky was too pumped up and too talented for us to survive a poor shooting night. Add on the foul trouble Tre was in throughout the game and we just could never get any momentum going. Give Kentucky a ton of credit...they jump on us early and stayed on us and we never really could get the crowd into it and impact their game. That was text book on how to go in and win in a tough environment. Tip your cap they were able to pull it off. I'll also give the refs a little credit for the Kentucky win as well. I felt that a LOT of calls went their way. Not saying the refs lost the game for AU but they didn't do us any favors either. I think the biggest take away for me is that I hope Tre is smarter with the fouls going forward. He is our floor general and we cannot lose him for long stretches of the game and hope to still play good offense. If he has to back off on defense to accomplish staying in the game then he needs to learn to do that.
  16. Glad to hear Jaylin is going to be ok and make it back this season.
  17. Let’s go Auburn! Beat the wildcats!!
  18. Glad you got to go. Would love the chance myself. I watched on tv and really enjoyed Pearls interview. We are lucky to have a coach who handles being in front of the camera so well. Would have like to see more Auburn focus out of the show but I missed the first part.
  19. Kentucky has the kind of talent that at any time this season they can turn it on and beat any team they play. I don’t think it happens tomorrow at Auburn. They aren’t going to be ready for the intensity of the jungle and this Auburn team. Constant pressure from both will wear down this young Kentucky team. Plus Bruce loves beating those guys.
  20. That line is crazy. I mean we have been amazing at home this year. But huge gut check game for our guys. They gonna have to bang and fight for everything. Can’t get rattled and can’t let South Carolina push us around.
  21. Week of Fl had is showing big time. They just look faster than us. Sucks but gonna have these days.
  22. We’ve yet to have our butt kicked this year. See if we can keep that from happening today. May be one of those games you gotta look for character building moments
  23. Curios to see how Broome and Jaylin play against the size fl has. Guards may have to be more assertive in this one finding shots.
  24. Hard to see how Aden can play the 2 with his size. You could maybe get away with it with Tre in the lineup so he could play the 2 spot on defense. Pettiford and Aden in at the same time is a hard no.
