  1. We have overrated our defense because they are playing much better than the offense for the most part. But, realistically they are only an average SEC defense at best, while offense is near the bottom. Defense still making way too many mistakes. Blown coverages, missed tackles or not finishing in critical situations. Partly youth and partly keeping people fresh. Maybe playing a little too loose to prevent big plays from opponents and not making enough big plays ourselves on defense. Assante and Simpson and Scott and maybe a couple more make some plays but we need more to step up. WDE!!!
  2. The biggest problem was the 4th and 1 situations. We had to punt with our lead. Had we been behind or tied we probably roll the dice. We just need to work on 4th and 1 and 3rd and 1 plays too. I still say QB sneak with pushers. 3rd and 1 sneak it or fake a handoff to Hunter and throw to Frazier or Fairweather. I don't think Battie is the back for short yardage. No delay runs from shotgun. What do I know? Nothing of course.
  3. With an anemic pass rush, Will Rogers will pick us apart as usual. For whatever reason I think our tired defense will rise up in the Fourth Quarter to make a big stop. 19-17 Tigers.
  4. It's frustrating to watch other teams where quarterbacks seem to have all the time in the world. If one of our QB's had that kind of protection a yellow flag would drop for sure.
  5. Our offense is worse than LSU's defense. And our defense is no match for LSU's offense. The bad news is Ole Miss and LSU are similar. The good news is we play in Jordan Hare instead of Death Valley. I still believe we have a chance.
  6. We have to get pressure on Daniels, especially 3rd downs or he will pick us apart.

  8. Amazing that we played as close as we did against a team that is better at every position on offense than AU. RB may be a draw. Of course we don't have a Bowers and likely never will. Thank goodness that's the last time we face him. We can only hope. Seemed like Kirby just waited till the fourth quarter to unleash Bowers against a very tired defense that had no answer for him even if we had been at full strength.
  9. Sure could, but I'd still go with UGA over either one of those two, assuming Bowers is not injured.
  10. Definitely better. I think I only disagreed with two or three calls. I wish we would have made a statement early by going for it with 4th and a foot with QB sneak and two H-Back pushers. Also handing off 7 yards deep with critical 3rd and 4th and 1's rarely is successful against teams much less talented than UGA. Guys played as well and as hard as they can.
  11. If something were to happen to PT and he was held out of Sat. game, Robby playing 3 quarters could possibly roll up 200 yards rushing and 200 yards passing. But what would that prove. Another thing I watched the game again and I believe we all may have been guilty of over rating this OL. Remember one starter has been a backup for several years at AU and the others were very good with their lower level teams and felt they could move up to Power 5. Way to many mistakes, but hopefully they can get it together before TAMU etc down the road. Most of the blame has been directed to QB (PT) as usual and play calling. CHF seemed to call out PT openly, but penalties, fumbles, missed blocks etc were called out as team issues not individual. I support Coach Freeze but he does things a little different and that could be a good thing. Maybe a bit of a maverick. WDE
  12. Too many mistakes to get into any rhythm. Some costly holds (full take downs), a couple of whiffs by right tackle resulting in sacks, and fumbles when we seemed to be driving with balance of the run and pass. The mistakes are fixable for the most part, I hope. When was the last time we had a better record than UAT? For at least two weeks.
  13. Does feel like a bag man may swoop in, but whose bag man? Lots of AU fingers are crossed. I have a feeling this may be a year to see more flips just before ESD.
  14. I feel pretty good against Texas and MSU, but if USC or someone like that swoops in at the 11th hour we could be in trouble. I know they're not in the hunt but neither was Ole Miss until the last few days.
  15. Most of us were cautiously optimistic about getting a commitment from Lindsey, but FB to AU would be a shock to Basketball Blue Blood World. Going head to head to head to head with Blue Devils, Wolverines, and Jayhawks I expected a fourth place finish when the dust settled.
  16. I also thought Reese Baker was no longer on the board maybe just not committed anywhere, so he's still open?
  17. Thanks Zeek. This is a little nitpicky, but you failed to add Thompson and Simmons as commits.
  18. Nix and Pappoe were 5* 247 sports composites in 2019. Would have had 3 in that class if Pickens had not flipped to UGA on signing day, I believe.
  19. Is this the SEC OL commit that we're trying to flip, that was alluded to a few days ago on a couple of posts?
  20. I guess all our 4* guys got a bump up after Big Cat.
