Watching Washington right now reminds me that the last time I watched them we were starting our own Freshman QB. Maybe we (AU) outwit ourselves and start a Freshman next year. Would save spending additional NIL$.

Hope our coaches watched that and learned a new trick.

Hope our Defensive Coaches used that as a learning experience.

Even with the AU opt outs, everyone on Defense and Offense were asleep at the wheel yesterday. So much like the NMSU game. That of course incudes our offensive line, which at times this year against superior defensive lines held their own. Not so yesterday. Mentally, neither the AU players nor AU coaches were prepared for this game. As much as I hope CHF has it in him to achieve his plan for our football team and program, I do believe he is lacking right now. i can only wait and see. I am still excited to have his potential as our HC. Just must wait to see if his potential moves our program back into relevance. Just my thoughts.

The portal will provide opportunities. Hoping that Hugh and AU can make their best effort to improve us in the most needed positions.

Besides recruiting Hugh’s other plus has always been his play calling. I would hope that he either finds a dynamic play caller or returns to play calling himself. Coaching his players “up” does not appear to be his strong point.

I also feel that a 7 win season is attainable. As long as Freeze and the other coaches get their collective act together toward changing culture in and around the team and program.

He already has named PT the starter. But, I do believe there has to be real competition this Spring and Fall. PT may be the starter, QB2 may takeover afterward. As long as we no longer try playing the QB1/QB2 round robin next Fall.

It takes a little time to change the “culture” maybe. I hope so. Getting college football players “up” for their rivals seems easier than getting the same group to play intense and prepared for lesser teams . Hoping that for AU’s sake that can start changing right now.

Coaches have let down the AU Family. The AU team was inadequately prepared for at least the 2nd game this year. That is all on CHF. It really is saddening. He really better start coaching or he will not last. Two teams that were no better talent wise cleaned our plow this year. All due to inability to get his team ready.

This a replica of the NMSU game. Except, we were less prepared to play today than in that terrible fiasco. I appreciate CHF Recruiting efforts as much as anyone but he better put on his Coaching Hat before Fall comes around.

Viper, it was not advice. I stated it was my opinion. Just an opinion like everyone else is doing at times. I am quite sure that neither you nor I are in a position to give Coach Freeze advice.

Why go to the NFL. Just milk all you can from your favorite college and then retire at 22!

No argument with you guys here. Surely not a criticism either, just an opinion.

I hope AU spends its time and money on more positive endeavors. Things like insuring we keep our current class together until signed next week and upgrading our other specific areas of need. I’ve seen this dog and pony show before with maybe at least one Bama recruit every year. It’s not worth the anguish for the minimal amount of return. Work hard on our good guys. JMO
