  1. Sad way to end things for a kid growing up idolizing AU. I hope it doesnt come to that.
  2. Yeah I agree. I get what I think they are trying to do, which I dont think is malicious because they are AU folks, but comments like that one seem like direct shots at AU and folks will respond as such.
  3. So where is his mom suggesting he should gone over AU? Probably not an inaccurate statement by her based on Gus's track record with QB development up to the time he committed to AU. Just curious
  4. Anyone keeping track of olineman we are offering in the portal? As many have said on here, we absolutely must land a few really good run blockers in addition to a good qb.
  5. This team is really really good defensively. And defense travels. I love it!
  6. Its honestly not going to matter that much who Harsin hires at OC until he upgrades the talent at certain offensive positions. The straight up truth.
  7. My opinion is it doesn't have to be one or the other....it could have been time to let Gus go and Harsin can still be a bad hire. Gus needed to go...the program was stale and stagnant with him. I will say you only fire a guy if you can get a better guy and Auburn almost always goes with the unproven candidate. Tuberville was probably as close to a proven candidate as we had, but even hadn't proven he could win in the SEC at an elite level. Unfortunately, there's really very little truly proven elite coaches, hence why the administration has a huge responsibility in accurately projecting success. We always have the benefit of hindsight, but based on results, our admin has seemed to consistently get it wrong to produce long-term success (mostly expressed by the fact we've only had back to back 10 win years ONCE EVER).
  8. I will say I freaking hate the guy, but hes an awesome defensive coach. His defensive players consistently perform at an elite level. He gets top guys, but the coaching is also top notch. Hence what you see right now with them.
  9. Dude if he goes to The Dwags and puts it on us next year, I'm done. That's it, that's my limit with Auburn football. One of the only stars we had this year and we'd let him go to a rival. The rival I absolutely loathe at that. Fml.
  10. At that point, game was over. 17-3, with no running game on offense. So no wouldnt have been worse. Outcome stays the same. I agree on not starting TJ for that reason. But I didnt suggest he should have started. Plus theres this thing called throwing the ball away Bo doesnt seem to understand exists. Perhaps TJ might 😀
  11. Nix was baaad. But the receivers are really bad also. They don't catch anything that isn't thrown directly to them. Zero ability to adjust on lobbed passes. Only way we can really fix this and compete with elite teams is get better receivers and a more accurate QB. After the fumble return for a TD, I have no idea why Harsin didn't go to Finley. What could it have hurt? And, if Finley built some momentum, maybe it carries forward.
  12. Gotcha. Hes still a crybaby POS. Only the worst complain about officiating AFTER a win. Thats Kirby or Saban level stuff right there. All cut from the same cloth. Bitch when it doesn't go your way despite all the bad calls that go their way. I know Kirby and Saban both get a TON of them.
  13. Reasonable to expect we wouldnt completely light them up considering they are really good on d. Also completely reasonable to expect more than 3 freaking points. You wont win many with that type performance.
  14. Bo has had a bad game, oline getting owned on pass blocking, and these receivers dont catch anything not thrown right to them. Not a one can actually adjust for the ball in the air.
  15. 2004 IMO was definitely the better team overall, but the X factor would be Cam. The 2004 SEC had no one is the same stratosphere that defenses had to face as Cam. Not even close. Offenses overall I think were much better in the SEC and spread the field a lot more by 2010, which would have given that 2004 defense major issues I believe. They were the best defense in that moment in time, but changes in the modern game would have been tough to adapt to. I'm of course assessing them just as they were and the system we ran back then on defense. You take the same players and adjust the scheme to modern day offenses, it could likely be a different story. However, the difference is still Cam. There is no real scheme that could have stopped him that year. I could see him leading the 2010 team to a win. But I wouldn't put $ on it. Lol. Would have been a hell of a game!
  16. Any coach directly quoted as saying "The day I can't whoop a man's ass is the day I don't get out of bed" is definitely the guy I'm taking. Coach O all the way.
  17. Made sense to me. I don't see a lot of nasty run maulers types on the line. That's what we need and I hope recruiting will address it. You need those guys no matter what scheme you run.
  18. Awesome post. What I cant understand is why neither Gus nor Bobo has used the RPO/Zone read type plays more with Bo. Is that just an outdated set of plays with defensive coordinators becoming more adept at scheming around the mesh point? At either rate, just a thought I've always had because it seems to play to Bo's strengths. Other thoughts are, I've loved what Bobo has done in general scheme wise to get more folks open on a consistent basis. However you slice and dice it, that was the main outcome lacking in Gus's passing game and I feel Bobo has made some progress there. We desperately need to get the run game going, but at this point, its probably not a scheme thing but more a talent thing. I hope Bo and the receivers also continue to progress.
  19. Yeah I've noticed Tank has left quite a few runs out there when folks hit low. Quite a few runs where he couldve really broken a big one if he had broken the tackle. He does seem overall less strong this year. Jmo. Hes still a very good back.
  20. So like 3 3rd down draw plays for 1st downs for Arkansas on that drive. Masons defense is soft as s***.
  21. Theres no reason not to go 9-4 next year. I realize we are losing most of the online, but Harsin has known about that from the day he took the job and has had time to hit the portal or recruit to at least get guys as good as what we have considering they are basically just a notch above terrible.
  22. Yeah I agree I dont get how that would stop an ace recruiter, not entirely anyway. Coaches go to new teams all the time and the ace recruiters usually take a recruit or 2 they want that they were recruiting at the old school. This is nothing new.
