  1. Gwill I understand. I am sick to death of losing and always looking to “next year”. There are many good comments on here about our past history of meddling, bad hires, being our own worst enemy, etc. When we hired Freeze I considered him an improvement over Gus by @ 1 more win per year. Averaging 8-9 wins is NOT acceptable (10 reg season wins min for me) in my book at all, but how I perceived Freeze. His teams were normally tough on O where Gus’ were not and they seemed to have more swag. Gus had players like Mason, Marshall, etc that were tough but the O as a unit was soft in my mind. Freeze’s D always seemed physical with swag as well. He was also involved with all aspects of the team, not just the O. I realize he is trying the CEO mode right now but just saying his past looked like what I just described. The HOPE I have is that he has and will evolve as a HC : something Gus was NOT capable of. Saban & Tubs had the same MO with the exception of Tubs pursuing a strong kicking game. Saban went out of his comfort zone opening up his O, shifting DL recruiting from big DL to big DL that could RUN to help defend the spread and added a better kicking game. I hate the midget, but it took brass balls to RISK this strategic shift to raise his game as a HC and evolve. Doing this at his age took extra guts but his ego/drive, whatever to be the best helped him overcome any fear of failure he may have had ? So what will she see from Freeze ? My HOPE is hanging by a thread right here. He is off to a good start with recruiting and being Captain Obvious it is crucial we lose none of our commits and flip some others. Thank God for NIL and it offers more hope in that Bama & GA can just buy our recruits right out from under us any longer with no repercussions. This alone should get us 3-4 4*s per year they would have bought out from under us like Pickens/Foster/Evans and on and on. Given what I have seen through 4 games without a SEC caliber QB gives me little hope of proving proof of concept this year versus SEC competition to encourage more 5*/4* recruits to sign on. The quickest fix to getting us on track is NIL, NIL, NIL and Freeze proving he has evolved as a HC showing proof of concept using the 2023/2024 freshmen class he will have just signed. I’m not happy at all trying desperately not to put it all on Freeze after so many bad decisions by our dysfunctional leadership (JJ/Leath/boosters) got us in this spot. Hopefully we have the right AD, Prez and NIL contributors that are willing to do anything it takes to make us a consistent NC contender winning our share.
  2. Hey Guys ! Anyone have a link ? I missed it. Thanks
  3. 1) We are going to need at least 1 D score in this game. 2) Robby gets a few opps to pass today 3) Thorne has to run for 40-50 yards to keep drives alive. Hope not, but may get hurt today 4) Cobb’s catching skills get highlighted today.
  4. Redzone Robby scoring TDs against this team won’t help us get better prepared for TAM. Thorne has to consistently finish drives on his own.
  5. I want to see a lot more Alston & Cobb at RB. Both have more shake & bake + quicker taking off.
  6. Deon on Gameday this morning was incredible : funny, cocky, engaging, preachy and just all out entertaining. It was a great recruiting ad for Colorado. It was interesting to hear his view of how they hone in on recruits and that in his words they interview the recruits (not the other way around) to make sure they have the mental, physical and moral traits to be successful on and off the field. It will be interesting to see how this plays out this season. If you missed it, it is worth watching.
  7. To me Hunter requires a wider running lane to pop through because he is built like a FB. He requires a few strides to get going and runs over you. Austin is built more like Tank who could pop through a smaller lane and can hit Mach 2 quickly. Brad Lester was the master at popping through narrow lanes and making something out of close to nothing.
  8. 1) Our OL the previous two years was terrible from a lack or recruiting, player development and coaching. 2) We know from a talent perspective Freeze upgraded this OL. The bar for improvement was very low. We also have a proven SEC OL coach in Thornton. 3) Our DL showed little to no pass rush versus UMass. 4) Both lines are only going to be as good as they practice. Did our OL have a false sense of self moving the ball consistently on our DL in practice and reality really hit home in Cali ? 5) Did our DL play over their head in Cali given the bulletin board material ? I’m very proud of the guts and energy in Cali but Cal is probably MSU minus their QB I knew we were going to struggle some with the pass rush, but expected much more from the OL, especially against the competition so far. I know it’s is early but just concerned our OL is in for rude awakening at TAM
  9. Relieved to win, but this for Call was like our 5 missed FGs at LSU. Cal deserved to win, but hope this struggle pays dividends for our boys when facing more adversity this season.
  10. A FG here and we have a chance. A TD and I don’t see this O closing that gap baring a major Cal screw up.
  11. I know Colorado had the benefit of Sanders having his Son as a QB and on the same page. That is huge. That said, every aspect of Colorado’s team has been crisp and very well coached. They have just as many transfers as we have. Is it the assistant quality? The season is young but Colorado looks light years ahead of us at this point.
  12. Rewarding the D is huge. Now get another TO and preferably a pick 6
  13. Fewer snaps means fewer opportunities spread out among the players. This will probably impact with quality depth that can start for other teams. This happens anyway, but I can see this ratcheting up.
  14. Yep, I agree Thorne looked average at best but has NOT had much time with the WRs. That pass in the flat was a pic 6 against an SEC DB. There was another one or two I don’t see being completed against SEC DBs but we will see improvement and we actually have a HC that can develop QBs. DL is concerning for sure and is probably giving our OL in practice a false sense of self for what will be demanded when SEC play starts. Definitely need the WRs to step up. RB room is exciting. Glad some young guys got playing time. The Cal game due to travel is going to add a lot more challenges than we think. We might not look real good. Let’s take care of Cal and pull an upset at TAM. I hate Jimbo with a passion but Petrino is going to make them deadly on O. Glad we play them early.
  15. 1) Nike has the best selection, great designs and is available everywhere. Since they started with running shoes they have always had the best footwear. They would be great for basketball since they own the AAU gig and all the influence $$$$ they have. That said, they are SELLOUTS with virtue signaling which we did NOT need in sports. The BS with the NBA and China is so hypocritical. The crimson turds are Nike obviously. While I like Michael Jordan the ONLY image I want on an Auburn FB Jersey is Bo Jackson, period 2) Adidas specialty and history is mainly soccer and track & field. Their runner & player apparel in the 70s & 80s was top notch. As Nike started branching out to more sports with innovation Adidas became a follower. Sure, they now have their cloud products but they just knockoff or try to knockoff the best technology others come up with. Thanks though for staying out of politics Adidas 🫡 3) New Balance- No freaking way 4) Under Armour- These guys took on Nike with better, cutting edge innovation in apparel forcing the gorilla of sports apparel to play catch-up. UA raised the price levels in the market from the quality and innovation of their apparel. I don’t want to pay more but what UA did here was incredible. They still need to work on their shoes which is a crucial need in all sports. While UA does offer rainbow apparel designs I thank them for keeping a low profile on politics. I hope we renegotiate a stellar deal with UA. War Damn Eagle !
  16. Spectrum’s rate dispute with Disney is fine, but holding viewers hostage is not. If Spectrum thinks all of the blowback is just coming Disney’s way they have another thing coming. Their service is high to start with and this BS takes the cake. On another but related note WTH Disney ? I wish another billionaire with a would buy them and purge the management. Disney & Spectrum can kiss my _ _ _ !!!!!!!
  17. I wish Bo the best. He could have gone anywhere in the country and committed to his dream school. Under a competent HC and talent developer he could have excelled at Auburn. Gus’ crap QB recruiting forced him to play early and pick up bad habits because of horrific OL recruiting and development. Harsin just finished the job Gus started. I hope he has an outstanding season and develops into a first round pick in the draft. I always love on MNF when they go through the lineup on O & D during the game and the players call out their school. It will suck hearing Nix say Patrick Nix, Oregon instead of Auburn. That advertisement is great for recruiting. Thanks Gus !
  18. The bottom line is we are going to need to overachieve on the field to attract and/or flip the needed OL/DL recruits
  19. If he was such a catch he would have transferred to multiple schools with much more to offer than Maryland. The word in NC is that UNC’s QB (a stud) was offered over 1 mil by an SEC school. His dad and one or two brothers played sports for UNC. UNC came up with incentives to keep him. I assumed it was Bama or GA offering big money. Also the HC at WFU said 5 of his players were offered 200K-500K to enter the portal. They told him when they decided to stay at WFU. He made a point of saying all 5 were NOT offered by other ACC schools. The Wild West of CFB.
  20. Kirby simply can’t allow the perception that they are losing their grip on recruiting getting more pro-Auburn coverage. Freeze snagging another 5* GA wants badly would cause an earthquake in Athens. He was so, so dirty as Saban’s bagman I hope Freeze and the boys pluck some guys from his class.
  21. Yep, very misleading and offering a bitter rival’s brother money is comical. A much better story would be tracking down the money source moving Tua’s family from Hawaii to the US ?
