Everyone I know that I think are knowledgeable in basketball are happy with 3-5 players on our roster and are excited about the two newcomers. Some think that Cheney could actually be better next year after being acclimated to playing in the SEC. A lot of these guys played for a championship team last year, and the coach probably wants to keep them. We'll see. I have seen BPs coaching for a good while and I trust in his judgement in this stupid crazy era. You may be correct in everything you say. We'll see.

There is one thing I know from 42 years in the small business world, and that is you can only go so big in hiring the new guy when jobs are fluid. You are not just giving a big raise to one guy. You had better make sure most of the others are happy, too. Some can see this as being "stubborn". Other see it as proper payroll management. You work with what you have. Maybe that's what BP is doing. Maybe he's stubborn and set in his ways. I don't pretend to know either way.

Yessir. 100% agree with you. Also noticed a lot of those folks that were totally done with both our point guards (that Bruce couldn't evaluate properly) had a come apart when they both transferred. And some of those folks thought BP played entirely too many players ,too. Now they hyperventilate and give up on the season when we lose backup players. Once again, I would love to have tons of talent 2-3 deep at every position. I'm not sure any team does. I'll support my Tigers from my recliner as usual, especially in the pay for play sport we have now.

We have 9 players that AU believes can play. We were beat several times by teams that didn't play near that many. If our two freshmen and our PG come around, we should be good to go. I would love to have 2 starters at every position. Most teams don't.

Are you confusing Denver with Holloway? Denver was really good down the stretch. And players can get better over time. So he should be better next year for sure.

Yeah. That actually could work. Split the take with the opponent and I bet it would bring more folks to the game. And fans like my family might be able to afford to go and get home before 2 AM.

I don't know if HF will be a good coach or a bad coach. I DO know that most people that have trouble with him seems to talk about him like he's been here since the Gus-Harsin years. That just baffles me. Whatever. The lawyers are involved now. Nothing will be the same anyway.

Hugh Freeze has coached AU for one season. He has improved the roster in two recruiting-portal seasons. A trend has to have some data to back it up. We have insufficient data at this point. IMO.

This stuff is so out of hand I'm not sure there's anything to learn. I know that all coaches have learned to keep recruiting- no matter what- at every position. If the coach has to cull some because we had too many commits actually keep their word, too bad for the players. I freaking hate it , but what else can you do? War Eagle!

It's weird, because I start out agreeing with you and I know that you have to have tons of talent to win in college basketball. But then I think of Kentucky , Kansas, and other blue bloods and if that was all that mattered, we could pretty much fill in the final four every year. This year was different in the dance, as it was pretty much chalk with only a few upsets after the first two days. But Kentucky has, or in Calipari's case, had everything we agree we need at AU, and doesn't have much more to show for it than other teams in the SEC the last few years. So there's always hope, I guess.

Yet if Denver went to uat or some other SEC team and went 6-8 from 3 against AU, our coach would be an idiot for letting him go. It's really easy to be a great coach from the couch. I am almost undefeated for the last 2 decades..😆 Edit....this was meant for me as much as all AU basketball fans.

Absolutely. JOX in Birmingham actually took a phone call from a guy that took his son to AU on an official visit. He went to a home game and then waited for some time after the game to meet Harsin. The position coaches and support people were there and then informed the player that the HC was too busy but appreciated him showing up. I didn't believe it and called a better connected friend. He replied it was true. But we waited until the PSU game to give up on BH.

I don't agree with some of what he says, but I can mostly get along with folks that say what they think. And he will admit when he's wrong. Politics aside, he would be fun to have a beer or two with. Or so many you have to call an Uber to get home .....

Didn't Kentucky get beat in the first round by a completely inferior opponent? So we are already on par with Kentucky, and no matter who we have an how much money we spend.....Arkansas and uat beat us every year. I'll wait and see. A basketball team is more than the best talent. Or Kentucky would have won every year. We'll see.

Has anybody noticed that some of the people that complained about Bruce playing too many players are now complaining that AU doesn't have enough players to go two deep? I'm not calling anyone out, but uat signs a couple of people at the same position, and one of ours that on the game day posts, nobody cared if he left mid- season, now it's doomsday? Just a thought.
