  1. He wants to fire everyone. In every sport. If you don't win the natty every year...."you're fired!".
  2. Didn't Kentucky get beat in the first round by a completely inferior opponent? So we are already on par with Kentucky, and no matter who we have an how much money we spend.....Arkansas and uat beat us every year. I'll wait and see. A basketball team is more than the best talent. Or Kentucky would have won every year. We'll see.
  3. Has anybody noticed that some of the people that complained about Bruce playing too many players are now complaining that AU doesn't have enough players to go two deep? I'm not calling anyone out, but uat signs a couple of people at the same position, and one of ours that on the game day posts, nobody cared if he left mid- season, now it's doomsday? Just a thought.
  4. Can someone please lock this thread. As much as I like Bo, we have beaten this horse to skeleton status in 20 other threads...
  5. And as long as the States on every side of Alabama and the Creeks pump money to just enough of our stalwart politicians in the House and the Senate......they never will pass a bill . The reconciliation bills will fall 'just a bit outside' of the time to get it done. But they got close this year! Rinse, Repeat, next year. Oh, and they will blame the Baptist and Church folks. 70+ % of who would vote for it if able. This game was old 20 years ago.
  6. Well. I don't have sources in the program, but I know a couple of people that supposedly do. Big boosters for 3-4 generations. One of them told me what I originally posted, that it was BS and we weren't in trouble with NIL money. I just heard from the other and he said we were in a little trouble this year and could be in trouble the next. Both said we had a NIL package for the High Point guard and OU upped our offer, then he gave us a chance to meet it. AU refused. They obviously differ on why we didn't meet the OU offer. Both these guys are right more than wrong and aren't scared to say things like 'I don't know' or 'I have no idea'. So......who knows? 🤔
  7. Not only just money. He can start at OU. He would not start here. We have a starter.
  8. I don't doubt that. But two things can be true at one time. Roster management is now payroll management. I always thought that was part of BPs strategy of playing so many players. I still don't know how many teams have money for two first team salaries per position. I know some teams are paying out the butt this year for players. We'll see how it shakes out for them in the near future with the transfer portal. And AUs money will be freed up considerably if they can replenish it to the same amount. And that's the big question.
  9. That's BS about the NIL and AU. We were recruiting a back up guard who would play minutes but would not start unless there was an injury to our PG. A backup PG is worth a certain amount of money. OU has payed starter money, and according to what I heard this morning, he asked AU to meet it. They said no, and the reason is that affects every one on the team that has an NIL. We might could afford to over pay for the bench player, but we can't afford to up everyone's salary on the bench, and possibly a couple of starters, by doing so. Most of the folks that tell us old timers that the 'genie is out of the bottle' have no idea what roster and payroll management means. Well,I do know what it means. What you pay one person affects the whole roster. In college basketball or business, and college basketball and football are now firmly in the business category.
  10. Yep. I can see the trend already. HF lost to both of them his first year. Definitely a trend setter.
  11. 37 here. Definitely outkicked my coverage!
  12. Definitely not the dumbest thing I've ever done. I've been married twice... 😆
  13. Well. I got on here to delete that. I just read it again and got it the second time. I wasted a helluva good argument on nothing. I'm leaving it up so I'll remember not to be so dumb...
  14. So, in other words, you're post is about firing HF and hiring a can't miss recruiter and portal expert that is also a better coach than most others? 😂 See how that works. Have you looked at our draft numbers compared to our main rivals? I don't know if HF is the man. I do know that our talent gap, especially in this era, is more than a one or two year recruiting cycle fix. Maybe let him coach two seasons before we decide to place him in the 'pay coaches not to coach: category? We can criticize all we want and I do. I also realize this HC was so shocked at the lack of talent on his team that he attempted something he's never done before anywhere. Hire someone on very short notice to coach his team while he worked his butt off to increase the talent level at AU. Also on very short notice. Most national pundits that don't depend on AU fans for clicks and bucks thought this was a 3-5 year job just for AU to level the field talent wise. I personally felt the same way. We are ahead of where I thought we would be talent wise. I'll reserve judgement on the coaching until mid season or so.
  15. Serious question. What makes you would think an entity that has the USA in Trillions of dollars worth of debt can solve this or any other monetary problem? I'm not trying to have an argument. I just haven't seen any proof in my almost 7 decades on earth that Congress could fix anything. No matter how much of our money they throw at a problem.
  16. Yep. You are young. If you'd have experienced the years before Dye.... You would be permanently soured. 😆
  17. Nope. Actually read what AU was acused of , and realize that Dye was not implicated in those charges, and then know where they came from ......it was for freaking food . Now we got generational wealth.
  18. The coach that made the best of athletes falling in their lap was Terry Bowden. Dye recruited them all. But for all his shortcomings ( pun intended ) Bowden was the best in game play caller we ever had . If he had been Pat's OC we would have been gold. I know. He would NEVER have been Coach Dye's OC.
  19. If I had been King of Auburn that day, Gus would have never coached football at AU again. And might have had to find a ride home from Athens.
  20. I'm not saying I agree with everything you said, but it brought back memories. I told my Dad back in the early 70's that something wasn't fair. He explained to me that a fair had carousels for the babies, cotton candy and roller coasters for the kids, and rigged games for the almost grown ups. And that was the only definition of 'fair' that mattered in the real world. And then he said something like 'when life knocks you down, dust yourself off and start over'. I digress. It just brought back great memories.
  21. The conversation within this thread topic between Golf, a few others, and me was about MLB uniforms. If AU can get better basketball players wearing Nike, then by all means let's get Nike. None of that or anything you said changes the fact that the MLB uniforms suck. The players hate them as much as our BB players hated Under Armour .
  22. Uhhh. This discussion is about MLB. Nobody said anything about dumping anyone or staying with a company. But you.
  23. It didn't 'seem' to backfire on them. The fans of MLB baseball are in full revolt over them. One team (St Louis?) is wearing last years unis at their home games. Saw the Yankees uniforms on Sports Center and it was even worse than I thought. Also the numbers on the new uniforms are tiny. Someone should lose their job over this.
