  1. McGee, Baby Briles, and Grimes are the guys we need to go after. McGee fills our recruiting void in a huge way but he's not an experienced play caller. Auburn alum so we know he won't be dogging it if he comes home. Baby Briles has the Xs and Os aspect and it's been long enough since he left Baylor that the radioactive fallout is clearing. Not sure how much he moves the needle with recruiting. Grimes is a familiar face who does everything well but does not recruit as well as McGee and isn't as strong Xs and Os wise as Briles. This would be the Gus hire but not in a bad way (if that makes sense). Got nothing against the guy but I hope it's not Matt Wells. We need someone who can recruit this area. If it's Wells then we need to bring on a Co-OC who basically only recruits but makes OC dough.
  2. I'll be honest... I don't understand the angst from this board in the last 48 hours. I think we all got so used to calling for Gus's head after painful losses we don't know how to react to the growing pains of a new coach anymore. There was plenty of hand wringing on the bammer and ugaly boards during Saban and Kirby's first seasons. At least we didn't lose to ULM or Vandy like they did. This loss for me is up there with the blown 20pt lead at LSU in 2017 which may have kept us out of the playoff and put bammer IN the playoff depending on who you talk to. It is not in the same universe as the FSU game. This one hurt. It really, really hurt. But it's not a cause to blow up the program.
  3. Bobo needs to get tarmac'd tonight. Simply amazing what he's done to piss away wins the last two weeks. If not for Matt Stafford he would be coaching a high school team somewhere.
  4. No way. We were actually good in 2017. This team is not very good outside of a few good performances against an overrated Arky, a horribly banged up Ole Miss, and a rousing second half at LSU. We need better linemen on both sides ASAP.
  5. How can we take any positives out of this? Just an unmitigated disaster all around. This staff needs to get it in gear on the recruiting trail and in the portal because we're going nowhere fast without better talent. Coordinators need to get the ish slapped out of them too.
  6. Never in my life have I been more happy to be a Bucs fan.
  7. Defense played well enough to win. 12 points and no touchdowns wins almost every time in 2021 college football. The whole offense was bad today but bad Bo reared his ugly head in a terrible way. Putting the ball on the deck two plays in a row in a 7pt game is unforgivable. The he goes over and pouts on the sideline after he was riding everyone else's ass for the first two thirds of the game. I get he's probably our best option at quarterback and our staff has been on campus for less than a year. But I'm not sure these issues can ever truly be fixed. He will always revert to this when things are going poorly.
  8. 27-17 good guys. Folded pizza can't overcome the streak.
  9. None of those are mainstream criticisms to the vaccine except the fetal cell angle. I don't know if it is or is not true and honestly it doesn't matter to me either way but I know that does matter to others. The fact that it becomes more difficult by the day to discern what is and is not true as reported in our media is another thread entirely. There are several outright lizard people level conspiracy theories in your post that barely get play anywhere except for known troll (4Chan) or conspiracy sites (Natural News). Are there gullible idiots who believe these things? Yes, you can get a few people to believe anything. Do they comprise any significant number of the people who are against mandating the vaccine? No way. I know at least three people who have been sent to the hospital because of reactions to the vaccine. This is why many people in low risk groups such as myself who have natural immunity have no desire to get the shot and are utterly repulsed at the federal government for thinking it has this power over us with no room for nuance or negotiation. For people who have been ostensibly following "the science" they sure are afraid of digesting new and useful information. We are one of the only countries in the world that just flat out ignores covid recovereds and nobody in our government will answer why that is. I'm sorry you've lost so many people. That sucks and I feel for you. I really do.
  10. You just admitted you didn't understand the position held by millions of "Vaccine works, forcing this vaccination is wrong." I question how much thinking you're doing if the idea that others might value the right to choose was unknown to you. Covid is not ebola. It is not the black death. It is not smallpox. Invoking others who have had Covid (I've had it too! Ask me what I thought about having it.) doesn't give you the moral high ground when it comes to forcing things upon others.
  11. My point is you need to stop letting idiots on tv and on the internet who's grip on reality is tenuous at best tell you what others opinions are instead of actually asking people yourself.
  12. It never once occurred to you that reasonable people can think the vaccine works but not wish it to be forced upon others against their will?
  13. The difference we don't have a governor trying to flex his authoritarian muscle like they do in Washington. Jay Tate said on the Bunker yesterday you can easily get exemptions in Alabama. If BH isn't vaccinated and doesn't plan to be (because he has natural immunity or some other reason) Auburn will work with him to get it sorted out.
  14. Damn I go eat dinner and come back to see this place hoppin'!
  15. https://www.stardem.com/news/national/cdc-covid-vaccines-won-t-stop-transmission-fully-vaccinated-can-still-get-spread-delta-strain/article_5f83d0cb-8b0a-535d-bbad-3f571754e5ae.html “Our vaccines are working exceptionally well,” Walensky told CNN in an interview on Thursday, Aug. 5. “They continue to work well for Delta, with regard to severe illness and death – they prevent it. But what they can't do anymore is prevent transmission.” https://www.npr.org/sections/coronavirus-live-updates/2021/07/30/1022867219/cdc-study-provincetown-delta-vaccinated-breakthrough-mask-guidance "High viral loads suggest an increased risk of transmission and raised concern that, unlike with other variants, vaccinated people infected with Delta can transmit the virus," Dr. Rochelle Walensky, the CDC's director, said in a statement Friday. "This finding is concerning and was a pivotal discovery leading to CDC's updated mask recommendation. The masking recommendation was updated to ensure the vaccinated public would not unknowingly transmit virus to others, including their unvaccinated or immunocompromised loved ones," Walensky said.
  16. I'd be willing to be money Harsin got vaccinated months ago. The difference is he isn't a clout chasing child like redditors and twitter blue checks who want pats on the head for doing absolutely nothing. Idiots like Joe Goodman are absolutely not on a need-to-know basis on this issue.
  17. Either the situation is no longer tenable with the allegations and Title IX issues, they have someone in mind they are sure they can get, or a combination of the above. They aren't doing this so they can hire Mel Tucker.
  18. I'm ok with this streak staying dead if it means we have several effective backs getting reps. There was nothing worse than Gus running one guy into the ground and then having no option available at the end of the season.
  19. Darn, I figured Smoke would be out here advertising for Delta 8.
  20. I hate this stupid narrative that Auburn fans are a bunch of whackos and we're two steps away from devolving into Lord of the Flies at all times. It's 2021. We just started our fourth coaching staff this century. Stop acting like we're running these guys off after three years. You know who's actually doing that? Tennessee, Arkansas, Florida State, and Texas. The problem is outlets like ESPN and al.com have been banging this drum for the last 15 years without actually talking to any Auburn fans about what their expectations are. Then they all repeat what they hear each other say like they came to this conclusion on their own when none of these jokers have an original thought in their heads.
  21. I remember in the far distant past of 2010 when me and my buddies would take lawn chairs, traffic pylons, a cooler, a roll of tape, and a football to the lot on Roosevelt at 2pm on Friday and claim parking spots for Saturday morning tailgating purposes. I miss the old days.
