I dont like using the refs as a crutch because they have been bad all year. There are a few games that I can think of that they were insanely worse. When given the opportunity Auburn simple didn’t execute. The missed free throws and consecutive turnovers were really bothersome. U would have thought Auburn hadn’t played in a few weeks. By letter of the law it was a flagrant 2 . However the ref could have used discretion in that matter. Past history probably played a part in the matter. To you last point it looks like the SEC was overvalued. Ole Miss started off hot but severely collapse throughout the SEC. South Carolina severely overachieved. Kentucky never really played to their potential. Alabama is live and die by the three. Auburn in theory exceeded expectations based on the preseason SEC rankings . Tamu has always been a gritty team so it’s 50/50 for team. The only team progressing as projected is Tennessee. Sorry for long post

I try to be positive but there were some either obvious flaws or question marks with this team despite all the wins.

I think it hurt the team but Auburn had no business losing. Somehow all the teams deficiencies showed up in one game. In some areas the floor got lower in the game. I believe most who followed the team all year still had those thoughts in the back of their mind but hoped the SEC tournament run would carryover.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with the scheme it’s just the players aren’t panning out. The team has been one good guard away for the longest

Bama plays Grand Canyon tomorrow in which they will probably win . It’s such that they dont play defense but Sears is a floor general that gets call. Them and UNC is they meet will be interesting. It may not have been the golden years but Auburn had some exciting team. Again the CBP era looks good because of how putrid the previous coaches were. The biggest reason for the change is Auburn decided to put some money into the program . CBP is a top five paid coach and eventually people gonna want better results

Respectfully this is not a great example. I am pretty sure UVA had plenty of returning starters. Auburn doesn’t and will have plenty of holes to fill

Eventually gonna have to move past the thinking of before the Bruce Pearls years because it wasn’t all bad. Before the bad stretch you had Barkley, Porter, Morris and the Person brothers. Bruce has made the jungle a place no one wants to play but with the right coach who has energy and passion the building will keep that energy. Not saying fire CBP but making a statement to fear of years before him
