Those are indeed the only two…and they both were followed fairly quickly by the dismissal of Auburn’s head coach at season’s end I believe: Tubberville in 2008 and Chizik in 2012.
-
Not so, Auburn leads 14-2 since that timeframe. The overall series is tied at 21 however: https://www.winsipedia.com/auburn/vs/vanderbilt

Exactly this. By comparison, I’d be curious how many 3-and-outs we’ve had…seems like it’s almost uncountable it’s been so many. Those are essentially the same thing as a turnover. Even if he threw 2 int’s a game, it’d be better to have 250+ yards passing and a few int’s than the passing travesties we’ve seen against P5 opponents.

Could have for sure beaten UGA, almost did as it was. The only beat down was at LSU. -
Is it a bad look that we always fire coordinators?

It’s definitely not a good look… -

Valid points. I’m good with it if he’s the best recruiting coordinator in the country. Time will tell, we’re trending in the right direction in that area. -
Laughed hard at this one 😂😂😂, but it’s true
-
I really love this. Those UCF fans were so smug claiming they took our head coach after beating us just a few years earlier. They’ve gotten everything they deserve, and then some.
-
...this was in one game?!!?!?
-
yeah I don't think anyone did. I'm sure that defensive coordinators and opposing defenses are licking their chops to play our offense, it's like shooting fish in a barrel.
-
Absolutely. Especially b/c the offense doesn’t perform enough to give them time to rest.
-
This is true! I don’t know that I’d say we quite have a championship-caliber defense, but it ain’t that far off, maybe an A- …but our defense definitely has more than a pulse. Going toe-to-toe with UGA and OM and some higher-caliber offenses is nothing to shake a stick at, especially as awful as our offense has been. LSU’s been the lone exception.
-
@bigbirddid you put Coleman up to that 50/50 shot nonsense?!? 😂🤣
-
Happy birthday @RunInRed! Thanks for all these great recruiting posts…hopefully Freeze will bring in a few recruits as a b-day present for you

I get what you’re saying, and generally agree. I think what’s most disappointing is the complete ineptitude offensively. I think most would be fine if we gave up more points defensively and had an offensive identity/competency. I think what makes it so hard is we all assumed the opposite of what we’re seeing: some offensive fireworks and the inability to stop anyone. What we’re actually seeing is giving some whiplash (or maybe me, at least), where we can stop almost anyone but can barely move the ball. I guess the upside is they say defense wins championships. So at least we’ve got that going for us and some of that foundation in place.

I expect the "what i saw at the Ol Miss game" weekly article

I read some absurd article today saying UCF fans were calling for Gus to get fired (LOL!) and this writer thought it would be a great idea to bring Gus back as OC. I thought, “no thank you”, although I still believe he’s on our payroll… https://flywareagle.com/2023/10/22/auburn-football-open-reunion-ex-coach/ -
Bro I feel every bit of this, I am right there with you. I’ve got a co-worker who wants to drop off a 2010 national championship framed photo/art like from Anders or the art place near Toomer’s, and it almost frustrates me 😂
-
Dang! You beat me to it. 6-4 Auburn, we win with 2 (maybe 3?) field goals, but Ms St keeps it close with 2 safeties.
-
More like he had an O-line, offensive coordinator, and receivers that were capable, unlike what we have had and currently have.
-
He wasn’t horrible but he wasn’t great either. He’d definitely not be anywhere near what he is now at Oregon if he’d stayed at Auburn.
-
That’s pretty funny. I think they meant the pre-Oregon Bo, not the post-Auburn Bo. But yeah, if we could have had Bo be what he is but at Auburn and on an accelerated timeline, that would be great

Be sure to include Grayson McCall at the top…especially after getting carted off the field in an ambulance

The offensive staff and players seem to have already jumped off a cliff…
