More BCS/AP Controversy

Looks like the Huntsville Times isn't the only newspaper being touched by the BCS/AP controversy. The Charlotte Observer is saying it will no longer participate in the AP football poll.. This seems to stem from Texas coach Mack Brown lobbying AP voters and then Texas fans picking up on it and bombarded AP voters including the Charlotte Observer guy. It apparently worked because several voters, including Neal McCready of the Mobile Register made a substantioal change in his ranking of Texas Vs. California. It's interesting to note that in this case the paper is making the decision and not leaving it up to the sportswriters for the paper. That is as it should be IMHO. It's also interesting to note that the paper says it may continue participation in the AP basketball poll since it is just a fun poll because the NC is determined by the NCAA tournament.
