homersapien 11,373
Believe it or not, I don't have a a problem with Trump rescinding DACA - in principle - except that Congress has already demonstrated it is incapable of passing immigration reform, largely because of the Republican party. A more responsible president would have presented a bill to congress or would at least work actively with congress to get a reasonable solution. But we know Trump ain't about to do that. This is about 1) nullifying anything with Obama's name on it and 2) pandering to his base of xenophobes. Worth reading: My parents didn’t teach me Spanish, I have an Alabama accent, and I have no memories of Mexico. Still, the president thinks it’s a good idea to deport me. http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2017/09/06/i-am-a-dreamer-and-im-as-american-as-you-are-215580
