Apparently the Phins didn't really budge on the contract (see Saban's comments) and Ronnie just decided to get into camp. We will see when the details are announced later today.

Rookie Ronnie Brown has agreed to a contract and will be in training camp today, according to two NFL sources.

Brown and the Dolphins made significant progress on a deal that is expected to pay the No. 2 overall selection slightly less than $20 million in guaranteed money. The deal is believed to be for five years.

Brown, a running back, was flying to South Florida from his suburban Atlanta home early Monday morning.

Brown has missed three weeks of training camp but coach Nick Saban has not complained about that missed time, arguing that the team needed to make a stand against overpaying for the salary cap good of the organization.

''We're trying to make it a good situation for any player, but also we have to be conscious of the future of the organization, in terms of what we do with a pick this high,'' Saban said Sunday.

A press conference to introduce Brown is expected for this afternoon. He is also expected to participate in his first practice when the Dolphins take the field at 3 p.m.
